Description
The invention relates to an auxiliary tool for gluing a sealing profile according to the preamble of claim 1 and a method for gluing a sealing profile using the auxiliary tool. Auxiliary tools and assembly aids for gluing a seal or sealing profile are known from the prior art, for example, see the following: DE 198 29 833 A1 and DE 298 17 630 U1 is pointed out. The invention is based on the objective of providing an auxiliary tool for the manual gluing of a sealing profile onto an angled component surface. The problem is solved by the auxiliary or assembly tool according to the invention, comprising the features of claim 1. By virtue of the dependent claim, the invention also extends to a method for bonding a sealing profile using the auxiliary tool according to the invention. Advantageous further developments and embodiments of the invention are described analogously for both subject matters in the dependent claims, the following description of the invention (including optional and exemplary features), and the figures. The auxiliary tool according to the invention is designed for the manual, i.e., freehand, application of a sealing profile to a component which has a main surface (first surface) and a secondary surface (second surface) angled to the main surface, in particular at a substantially right angle, wherein the sealing profile is applied to the secondary surface, which thus forms a sealing surface. According to the invention, the auxiliary tool has a contact surface, which is provided for contacting and guiding the auxiliary tool on the main surface of the component, and a groove-like pressure surface, which is provided for pressing the sealing profile against the secondary surface of the component. The contact surface is designed as a substantially flat surface. The groove-like pressure surface is, in particular, the inner surface of a groove-like section of the auxiliary tool according to the invention. The groove-like pressure surface is preferably adapted to the profile cross-section of the sealing profile and may, in particular, also have an undercut contour. Preferably, the contact surface and the groove-like pressure surface abut directly each other or are designed as surfaces directly adjacent to each other. Preferably, the auxiliary tool is designed, at least approximately, in an L-shape, with the contact surface located on one leg of the L, particularly the longer leg, and the groove-like pressing surface on the other leg, particularly the shorter leg. The legs of the L are arranged substantially at right angles to each other. The leg of the L with the groove-like pressing surface may have a support surface or similar feature at its free end, pointing away from the other leg, with which the respective leg of the L can be supported when the sealing profile is pressed against the component. The sealing profile to be bonded preferably has a semicircular profile cross-section (semicircular profile seal), wherein the groove-like pressure surface of the auxiliary tool is correspondingly concave or has a concave curvature contour (concave pressure surface). Preferably, the contact surface, which is particularly designed as a flat surface, and the concave pressure surface transition seamlessly into one another. The auxiliary tool is preferably manufactured in one piece from plastic, particularly by injection molding. The plastic used is preferably POM (polyoxymethylene), which is characterized by high strength, good wear resistance, and also good sliding properties. The inventive method for manually, i.e., freehand, gluing a sealing profile onto a component which has a main surface and an angled secondary surface, comprises at least the following steps: - Pre-positioning the sealing profile on the adjacent surface of the component; - Pressing the sealing profile against the secondary surface of the component using an auxiliary tool according to the invention, which for this purpose is simultaneously pressed with its contact surface against the main surface and with its groove-like pressing surface including the sealing profile against the secondary surface of the component and is moved in the longitudinal direction of the sealing profile. For bonding purposes, the sealing profile can have a protective film-covered adhesive surface, or a protective film-covered adhesive tape can be used, which may optionally also be attached, in particular glued, to the adjacent surface in a prior step. Preferably, when gluing the sealing profile, the protective film (liner) is applied essentially synchronously and in particular, it was pulled off in advance of the movement of the auxiliary tool, in particular manually, and then the sealing profile was immediately pressed on. The auxiliary tool and the method according to the invention are particularly suitable for replacing a sealing profile during repair or maintenance while maintaining high quality standards. Preferably, the component is a body part of a motor
