Description
Technical field The present invention relates to a vehicle display device for displaying a desired message to an occupant of a vehicle. Technical background A conventional example is a vehicle-mounted display system according to Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 2019-18804 (hereinafter referred to as Patent Document 1). In the vehicle-mounted display system, when the vehicle switches from a manual driving mode to an autonomous driving mode, various pieces of information for a vehicle occupant (driver) are switched from a virtual image display to a real image display, and when the vehicle switches from autonomous driving mode to manual driving mode, various pieces of information for the vehicle occupant (driver) are switched from the real image display to the virtual image display. Furthermore, a field-of-view control device is described in the Japanese Unexamined Patent Publication No. 2019-48519 (hereinafter referred to as patent document 2). The said field-of-view control device controls an upward movement or a forward tilt of a seat when a vehicle switches to an autonomous driving mode. State of the art document Patent document Patent Document 1: Japanese Unexamined Patent Disclosure No. 2019-18804Patent Document 2: Japanese Unexamined Patent Disclosure No. 2019-48519 Summary of the invention Problem to be solved by the invention In order to further improve driver assistance functions for a vehicle occupant, methods have been considered in recent years that combine a display switching process between a real image and a virtual image, as described in the above-mentioned patent document 1, with a seat switching process of a position or a position of a seat, as described in patent document 2. However, if, during the driving mode change, the point at which the seat position or orientation change is completed and the point at which the display change described above is completed do not coincide, the display change may be completed some time after the seat change, or the seat change may be completed some time after the display change. In such a case, a vehicle occupant may perceive a driving mode change at two separate points in time, resulting in the problem that the vehicle occupant does not receive a strong impression of the driving mode change. The present invention was designed in view of the above-mentioned problems and has the objective of providing a vehicle display device that can give a vehicle occupant a strong impression of switching a driving mode. Means of solving the task The present invention relates to a vehicle display device 1, which is provided in a vehicle C having a seat 50 on which a vehicle occupant DR sits and a translucent element WS, and which emits display lights L11 and L12 from a radiating aperture 17 towards the translucent element WS, thereby switching between a first display image VI and a second display image RI of a display image represented by the display lights L11 and L12 in order to visually convey the display image to the vehicle occupant DR, wherein the vehicle display device 1 has display units 12b and 12a, each having a display element, which transmit light emitted from light sources 11b and 11a and display the first display image VI or the second display image RI, and a reflector unit 13 which reflects the first display light L22 or the second display light L11, respectively, which displays the first display image VI shown in the display units 12b and 12a. or the second display image RI is reflected in the direction of the translucent element WS, and includes a control unit 15, and the control unit 15 includes a display switching process for switching a display such that the first display image VI is visible in a manual driving mode of the vehicle C and the second display image RI is visible in an autonomous driving mode of the vehicle C, a seat detection process for detecting that a change in the position or orientation of a seat 50 has been made in connection with switching between the manual driving mode and the autonomous driving mode in the vehicle C, and performs a switching instruction process to carry out a switching instruction by dynamically displaying a first image or a second image corresponding to the first display image VI or the second display image RI, respectively, during the switching between the first display image VI and the second display image RI by the display switching process.
