Description

Technical field The present application relates to systems and methods for end flaps of a screed assembly on an asphalt paver. In particular, the present application relates to systems and methods for a wear component of an end flap. State of the art Paving machines or pavers are used in paving work to create a new road surface. Pavers assist in pouring and spreading paving material to form a new road surface or mat. In asphalt pavers, a bituminous mixture filled with aggregates, which forms the paving material, is spread hot and then compacted, so that upon cooling, a hardened road surface is created. Pavers typically use a heavy device (called a "screed") that is towed behind the paving machine. The screed assembly includes one or more screed plates to spread a smooth, even layer of paving material onto the prepared roadbed. The weight and/or vibration of the screed assembly helps to compact the paving material and perform an initial compaction of the paving material layer. To facilitate the application and compaction of the paving material, the screed assembly can include components such as one or more screed panels. These can be separate and extended and retracted laterally relative to the paver's direction of travel. The ability to use multiple screed panels to cover a larger lateral area allows for more efficient paving of a larger surface with fewer passes. Furthermore, multiple independent screed panels as part of the screed assembly allow for individual adjustments to the relative angle of the screeds. This enables the mat to be laid with a desired angle, curvature, or slope in specific areas. For example, a drainage gradient can be incorporated into the mat. Several screed assemblies with multiple screed panels are known, including a front-mounted screed extension assembly and a rear-mounted screed extension assembly. In the front extension assembly, one or more lateral screeds are positioned laterally and in front of a main screed. In the rear-mounted plank extension arrangement, one or more lateral plank plates are positioned to the side and behind the main plank plate. Summary of the invention A device comprising a plank arrangement is disclosed. The device includes a plank arrangement and an end flap detachably attached to an end section of the plank arrangement. The end flap includes a wear plate adjustably attached to an inner surface of the end flap. The wear plate can be arranged on the end flap in a first position, and in this first position, the wear plate can be flush with the plank plate. The wear plate can be actuated to move it from the first position to a second position, in which case the wear plate is flush with the plank plate. The wear plate can have one or more elongated slots, and the wear plate can be moved from a first position to a second position by loosening and tightening one or more adjusting bolts located in the one or more elongated slots. The wear plate can also be adjusted by rotating an adjusting bolt, the adjusting bolt extending outward from an outer surface of the end flap. The equipment can include at least one of the AR450 and AR500 steels. A wear plate for the end flap of a paving machine is disclosed. The wear plate can be adjustably attached to the end flap. The wear plate is located on an inner surface of the end flap and can be adjusted from a first position to a second position on the end flap. The wear plate can be attached to the end flap in a first position, in which the wear plate is flush with a paving slab. The wear plate can be adjusted from the first position to the second position, in which the wear plate is also flush with a paving slab. The wear plate further comprises one or more elongated slots for receiving one or more threaded studs. The wear plate can be adjustably attached to the end flap by inserting the one or more threaded studs through the elongated slots. The one or more threaded studs can be loosened to allow adjustment of the wear plate from the first position to the second position. The wear plate can wear at a rate that is essentially the same as the speed of the paving slab. The wear plate can be adjusted by turning an adjusting bolt, whereby the The adjusting bolt extends outwards from an outer surface of the end flap. The first position can be a worn position, and the second position can be a flush position, the flush position being flush with a plank plate of a plank assembly. The wear plate comprises at least one of the steels AR450 and AR500. A method for adjusting a wear plate, which is adjustably attached to an end flap of a paving machine, is disclosed. The method includes loosening one or more fastening bolts that secure the wear plate to the end flap. The method further includes moving the wear plate from a first position to a second position. In the second position, the wear plate may be flush with a paving slab. The method further includes tightening the one or more fastening bolts. Brief description of the drawings
