Abstract
A sleeve is used for attachment to a housing. The housing has a terminal receiving section that receives a terminal, a receiving section for a conductive element that is arranged adjacent to the terminal receiving section so that it is immovable and receives part of a conductive element extending from the terminal, and an opening that opens the terminal receiving section and the receiving section for a conductive element outwards in a first cutting direction that intersects an arrangement direction of the terminal receiving section and the receiving section for a conductive element. The sleeve has the following: a first sleeve that covers at least a first opening corresponding to the terminal receiving section; and a second sleeve that covers at least a second opening corresponding to the receiving section for a conductive element. The first and second sleeves are rotatable relative to each other about an axis extending in the first cutting direction.

Description
BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Field of invention One embodiment of the present invention relates to a casing and a connector. Description of relevant technology A connector comprising a terminal, a housing that receives the terminal and a conductive element (a busbar or an electrical wire) extending from the terminal, and a casing that covers an opening in the housing is known. The opening in the housing is a section of the housing that opens to the outside both a receiving section for the terminal (terminal receiving section) and a receiving section for the conductive element (receiving section for a conductive element) within the housing. State of the art document Patent document Patent document 1: Japanese unexamined patent application, first publication no. 2022-151014 PRESENTATION OF THE INVENTION With this type of connector, the direction of the conductive element extending from the terminal within the housing (the conductive element's direction of extension) can vary depending on the application. Because of this, multiple housing types with different conductive element extension directions relative to the terminal receiving section are manufactured to suit the various connector applications. Since multiple housing types, each corresponding to a multiple housing type, are currently produced, the manufacturing costs of the connector, including the housing and housing, are high. One embodiment provides a casing and a connector that reduce the manufacturing costs of the connector. A shell according to one embodiment is a shell for attachment to a housing. The housing has a terminal receiving section that receives a terminal, a receiving section for a conductive element that is arranged adjacent to the terminal receiving section so that it is immovable, and that receives a portion of a conductive element extending from the terminal, as well as an opening that opens the terminal receiving section and the receiving section for a conductive element outwards in a first cutting direction that intersects an arrangement direction of the terminal receiving section and the receiving section for a conductive element. The shell has the following: a first shell that covers at least a first opening corresponding to the terminal receiving section; and a second shell that covers at least a second opening corresponding to the receiving section for a conductive element. The first shell and the second shell are rotatable relative to each other about an axis extending in the first cutting direction. The shell further has a fixing section that non-rotatably fixes the first shell and the second shell to each other at a position radially removed from the axis. A connector according to one embodiment comprises: a terminal; a housing having a terminal receiving section that receives the terminal, a receiving section for a conductive element that is arranged adjacent to the terminal receiving section so that it is immovable and receives part of a conductive element extending from the terminal, and an opening that opens the terminal receiving section and the receiving section for a conductive element outwards in a first cutting direction that intersects an arrangement direction of the terminal receiving section and the receiving section for a conductive element; and the aforementioned casing. The casing and connector according to one embodiment of the present invention allow the manufacturing costs of the connector to be reduced.
