Description
The invention relates to a cell connector designed for attachment to cylindrical battery cells by laser welding. The invention also relates to a battery comprising cylindrical cells connected by such a connector. Repair components for the connector are also included. The invention is applicable to batteries for electric vehicles, including electric bicycles, and particularly to batteries that can be repaired. Solutions are currently known that enable the one-sided connection of cylindrical battery cells using the "wire bonding" method. The patent specification US 2007/0188147 A1 Disclosure reveals a method for connecting cylindrical cells using wire. In this solution, the wire connecting the cells also acts as a fuse. If the current becomes too high, for example during a short circuit, the wire breaks and the connection between the cells is severed. This type of cell connection allows the cells to be reconnected with a wire if the fuse fails. Furthermore, the "wire bonding" method is used in many other specific solutions where the cells are aligned so that they are all connected on one side, e.g. US 10,243,184 B1 One variation of wire bonding is the tape bonding method, which uses metal plates instead of wire. The different cross-sections and the way the metal plates are connected to the cell allow, for example, the transmission of higher current and a reduction in heat generation. Such connectors are used, for example, in the Lucid Air car battery and are attached to the cells using ultrasonic welding. The one-sided joining of cells using sheet metal connectors is also described in the patent specifications. US 2019/0296310 A1 , US 2024/0162572 A1 , WO 2022/235096 and WO 2022/005032 revealed. The sheet metal connectors are connected to the busbars, which transfer the energy to the main battery terminals. However, existing connection methods using sheet metal connectors do not allow for the replacement of individual cells when they wear out. Attempting to separate a single cell by cutting the connector irreparably damages the connector, leaving no possibility of reconnecting the cells. Furthermore, directly severing the connection between the connector and the cell permanently damages the connector, preventing any possibility of reconnecting the cells. The aim of the invention is therefore to provide a connector for connecting cells that are oriented in such a way that they can be connected on one side, whereby individual cells can be replaced, the stability of the connection is maintained and the connector is correctly positioned before and after the cell replacement. The essence of the invention is that the cell connector, comprising a main part of the connector and at least one positive terminal and/or one negative terminal, is characterized in that it comprises at least one connector branch for the positive pole and/or at least one connector branch for the negative pole, wherein the connector branch for the positive pole and/or the connector branch for the negative pole comprises a positioning part located within the outline of the main part of the connector, wherein the positioning part comprises at least one means for positioning the pole terminal and a connecting section located between the pole terminal and the positioning part. Preferably, the connecting section connects the higher-lying positioning part to the lower-lying pole connection. Preferably, the connecting section includes a bend that forms a step between the positioning part and the pole connection. Preferably, the connector is a left-hand edge connector and includes at least one connector branch for the negative pole only. Preferably, the connector is a right-hand edge connector and includes at least one connector branch for the positive pole only. Preferably, the connector is a middle connector and comprises at least one connector branch for both the negative pole and at least one connector branch for the positive pole. Preferably, the positioning means is a mounting slot. Preferably, the positioning means is a mounting hole. In a further embodiment of the invention, the essence consists in the fact that the battery, which comprises a core, is characterized by that the core comprises a container which has on its upper side a mounting surface for the connector, comprising at least one mounting means, and at least one connector according to the invention which is arranged on the mounting means. In yet another embodiment of the invention, the essence consists in the fact that the repair part of the connector branch for the positive pole is characterized in that it comprises a positioning part which can be abutted against the main part of the connector, wherein the positioning part comprises at least one positioning means, and further comprises a pole connection and a connecting section which is located between the pole connection and the positioning part. In yet another embodiment of the invention, the essence consists in the fact that th
