Description
The invention relates to a method for transmitting a signal comprising positioning-based information from a location management entity of a radio network to a first radio node of the radio network, and a corresponding method for receiving a signal comprising positioning-based information provided by a location management entity of a radio network. The invention further relates to an associated method for transmitting a signal comprising positioning-based information from a service provisioning entity of a radio network to a first radio node of the radio network, and a corresponding method for receiving a signal comprising positioning-based information provided by a service provisioning entity of a radio network. The invention also relates to a radio node, a network entity, a computer program, and a non-volatile, computer-readable medium. background In 3GPP specifications, the Location Management Function (LMF) is responsible for providing location information to the user device (UE). A (semi-)autonomous vehicle requires information about the position, speed, heading, acceleration, etc., of other road users in its vicinity. Vehicles can share such information through ETSI-ITS messages, such as a Cooperative Awareness Message (CAM). Disclosure of the invention According to a first aspect, a method for transmitting a signal that includes positioning-based information is provided from a location management entity of a radio network to a first radio node of the radio network. The procedure according to the first aspect includes: - Receiving a request signal, which includes a request for positioning-based information regarding at least one other radio node of the radio network, by the location management functional entity; and - Transmitting a response signal comprising the requested positioning-based information from the location management functional entity to the first radio node, wherein the positioning-based information contained in the response signal is based on positioning-related information collected by the location management functional entity from at least one second radio node. The site management function entity can preferably be understood as a network entity that hosts a site management function, in particular as specified in 3GPP TS 29.572. The received request signal is transmitted by the first radio node, preferably using radio network resources, e.g., via a radio network base station, to the site management entity. The transmitted response signal is then transmitted by the site management entity, preferably using radio network resources, e.g., via a radio network base station, back to the first radio node. The request signal can include a request for positioning-based information for one or more specific or specified secondary radio nodes in the radio network. Additionally or alternatively, the request can include a request for positioning-based information for all radio nodes within a specific or specified area of interest. Accordingly, the response signal can include the positioning-based information for the one or more specific or specified secondary radio nodes in the radio network and/or for all radio nodes within the specific or specified area of interest. The collection of positioning-related information preferably includes requesting, retrieving, and/or receiving positioning-related information and storing the requested, retrieved, and/or received positioning-related information. The positioning-related information can be collected by the location management functional entity either directly or indirectly by retrieving and storing positioning-related information exchanged between radio nodes of the radio network, preferably ETSI-ITS Cooperative Awareness Messages exchanged between vehicles in the radio network. For direct retrieval, the positioning-related information exchanged between radio nodes of the radio network could be encoded by the location management functional entity itself, for example, if ETSI-ITS Cooperative Awareness Messages (CAMs) are available via an open protocol. For indirect retrieval, the positioning-related information exchanged between radio nodes of the radio network could be transmitted via a network entity, e.g., a server, and extracted by it, which then delivers the extracted positioning-related information to the location management functional entity. Additionally or alternatively, the location-related information can be collected by the location management functional entity by explicitly requesting and storing the respective location-related information, preferably from the at least one second radio node. Here, the at least one second radio node could be configured by the location management function to specifically provide the requested location-related information and/or (all) location-related information exchanged between the at least one second radio node and other radio nodes in the radio network. For this purpose, the 5G-based LTE Positioning Protoc
