Abstract

Claims (5)

  1. A component, in particular a component for a control element, comprising at least one image element (4), in particular a symbol, a display or the like, consisting of a first component (5) having a first side (6) and a second side (7) with the image element (4) and of a second component (9) adjoining the first component (5) and of a further third component (10) adjoining the first component (5), wherein the third component (10) is transparent, and wherein in particular a fourth component (11) is applied to the surface of the third component (10) as a light-transparent, wear-resistant scratch-resistant layer, characterized in that the material of the first component (5) is substantially opaque, that at least one opening (8) is located in the first component (5) between the first side (6) and the second side (7), that the opening (8) forms the image element (4), that the second component (9) is located adjoining the second side (7) of the first component (5), that the material of the second component (9) is essentially transparent, and that the third component (10) is adjacent to the first side (6) of the first component (5) and filling the opening (8) and is adjacent to the second component (9) in the area of the opening (8).
  2. A component, in particular a component for a control element, comprising at least one image element (4), in particular a symbol, a display or the like, consisting of a first component (5) having a first side (6) and a second side (7) with the image element (4) and of a second component (9) adjoining the first component (5) and of a further third component (10) adjoining the first component (5), wherein the third component (10) is transparent, and wherein in particular a fourth component (11) is applied to the surface of the third component (10) as a wear-resistant scratch-resistant layer transparent to light, characterized in that the material of the first component (5) is substantially opaque to light, that at least one opening (8) is located in the first component (5) between the first side (6) and the second side (7), that the opening (8) forms the image element (4), that the second component (9) adjoins the second side (7) of the first component (5) and partially fills the opening (8) in a The distance to the first side (6) of the first component (5) is such that the material of the second component (9) is essentially transparent, and that the third component (10) is adjacent to the first side (6) of the first component (5) and filling the remaining opening (8) and adjacent to the second component (9) in the area of the opening (8).

Description

The invention relates to a component with an image element according to the preamble of claim 1. Such a component can be used as a control element in a motor vehicle to operate functions. The image element located in the component then serves to visualize the respective function for the user. Furthermore, the image element can also serve in other ways to visualize functions, states, or the like in the motor vehicle. In particular, the invention is applicable to the display of symbols, indicators, or the like for user interfaces. From the DE 10 2015 222 304 A1 A component of this type for a control element is known. This component has at least one image element. The image element can be a symbol or a display. The component has a first component with a first and a second side. Adjacent to the first component is a second component. Furthermore, adjacent to the first component is a third component, which is transparent. A fourth component is applied to the surface of the third component. The fourth component is transparent to light and serves as a wear-resistant scratch-resistant layer. In the known component, the graphic element is formed as a raised symbol in the first component. This first component is made of a white, translucent material. The second component is made of a black material. Adjacent to the first component, the second component is overmolded in the area of the graphic element, such that only the graphic element and the second component are visible to the viewer. Adjacent to this, a third component with a thickness of 1-2 mm is overmolded, creating the desired depth effect of the graphic element. Polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), polycarbonate (PC), or similar materials are particularly suitable for the third component. A fourth component, located on the surface of the third component, then serves as a scratch-resistant coating. It has been found that with the known arrangement of components, a homogeneous representation of the image element is difficult. Furthermore, the line thickness of the image element is irregular. Additionally, the specifications for the line thickness of the image element are difficult to adhere to. The invention is based on the objective of further developing the component with a picture element in such a way that a homogeneous representation of the picture element and/or a regular line thickness of the picture element and/or compliance with the specified line thickness of the picture element are achieved. This problem is solved in a generic component with an image element by the characterizing features of claim 1. In the component according to the invention, comprising an image element according to a first embodiment, the first component consists essentially of an opaque material. Furthermore, the first component has at least one opening between the first side and the second side, the opening forming the image element. The second component is located adjacent to the second side of the first component. The material of the second component is essentially transparent. The third component is located adjacent to the first side of the first component, filling the opening, and further adjacent to the second component in the region of the opening. In the component according to the invention, which has an image element according to a second embodiment, the first component consists essentially of an opaque material. Furthermore, the first component has at least one opening between the first and second sides, the opening forming the image element. Adjacent to the second side of the first component and partially filling the opening, at a distance from the first side of the first component, is the second component. The material of the second component is essentially transparent. Adjacent to the first side of the first component and filling the remaining opening, as well as further adjacent to the second component in the region of the opening, is the third component. Further embodiments of the invention are the subject of the dependent claims. The material of the first component can be black, if appropriate. Furthermore, the material of the second component can be white and/or diffuse. In this case, the second component provides a visual differentiation between the image element and the first component for the viewer. This results in a homogeneous representation of the image element with a consistent line thickness, adhering to the specified line thickness. Furthermore, the material of the third component can be polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), polycarbonate (PC), or similar. In a simple manner, the third component can then create a three-dimensional, optical appearance of the image element for the viewer, in particular exhibiting a depth effect.
