Abstract

- Lightbox with a surrounding frame made of interconnected frame profiles (1), wherein at least one strip- or band-shaped light source (9), in particular an LED strip, is provided within the frame for illuminating a plate-shaped, translucent information carrier (15) that is interchangeably arranged within the frame, wherein a plate-shaped light guide (10) is arranged behind the information carrier (15), to which the light source (9) is assigned on its edge side, characterized in that the respective frame profile (1) has two C-shaped sections (3, 4) which together form a T-shaped profile by means of a common leg (5), wherein the outer surface of the T-bridge (6) of the T-shaped profile formed by the two C-ribs (3a, 4a) of the C-shaped sections (3, 4) forms a part of the surrounding outer wall of the lightbox (2), wherein the two C-shaped sections (3, 4) form pockets (7, 8) which are located on the rear The connecting side accommodates a corner connector or the like, and the front side accommodates the light source (9) and the light guide body (10), wherein the outer legs (3b,4b) of the two C-shaped sections (3,4) are significantly shorter than the common inner leg (5), wherein the T-bridge (6) extends beyond the front outer C-leg (4b) into a front outer bridge (11) against which the information carrier (15) rests on the outer edge.

Description
The invention relates to a light frame with a surrounding frame made of interconnected frame profiles, wherein at least one strip- or band-shaped light source, in particular an LED strip, is provided within the frame for illuminating a plate-shaped, translucent information carrier which is interchangeably arranged within the frame, wherein a plate-shaped light guide body is arranged behind the information carrier, to which the light source is assigned on the edge side, and a frame profile for such a light frame. Out of DE 295 19 403 U1 A known lightbox includes at least one light source for illuminating a translucent information carrier that is interchangeably arranged within the lightbox and to which a transparent cover is assigned. The cover forms a plate-shaped light guide located behind the information carrier, with a substantially uniform light emission over a surface, and the light source is positioned at the edge of the light guide. A white surface may be assigned to the lightbox behind the light guide. The lightbox has a surrounding frame with a tray that accommodates the information carrier and other components, and leg- or angle-shaped frame profiles that extend inwards over the tray edges towards the open front of the tray. The information carrier is enclosed over a large area by the frame legs and additionally by a passe-partout, so that the visible area of the illuminated information carrier is significantly smaller than the total area of the lightbox. Furthermore, the manufacturing effort for the frame is high, as a tray is required, and trays of different sizes must be manufactured and kept in stock for different lightbox sizes. The object of the invention is to provide a lightbox with low manufacturing costs, in which the illuminated information carrier has the largest possible visible area within the frame. This problem is solved according to the invention in a lightbox of the type described above by the fact that the respective frame profile has two C-shaped sections which form a T-shaped profile by means of a common leg, wherein the outer surface of the T-leg of the T-shaped profile formed by the two C-ribs of the C-shaped sections forms a part of the circumferential outer wall of the lightbox, wherein the two C-shaped sections form pockets which accommodate a corner connector or the like on the rear connecting side and the light source and the light guide on the front, wherein the outer legs of the two C-shaped sections are significantly shorter than the common inner leg, wherein the T-rib is extended beyond the front outer C-leg into a front outer rib against which the information carrier rests on the outer edge. In this illuminated frame, the frame consists solely of structurally identical frame profiles connected via corner connectors or similar elements, thus simplifying manufacturing. The individual frame profiles can be produced, for example, by aluminum extrusion and cut to size. Due to the arrangement of the light source and the light guide element in a single plane within the C-shaped section on the front, and the short outer C-legs, the information carrier rests only on the narrow outer C-leg and the narrow outer web on the back, resulting in a very large visible illuminated area of the information carrier. Furthermore, the outer web facilitates the positioning of the information carrier and, if necessary, a transparent outer cover within the frame. Such an illuminated frame is suitable for a wide variety of applications, such as POS displays, furniture, interior design, and signage. Preferably, the frame profile is an aluminum profile, although other profile materials are of course possible depending on the application. Depending on the design of the information carrier, a transparent outer cover is advantageously provided, which rests against the front of the information carrier and along the outer edge of the outer rib. The outer cover can be made of acrylic, for example. Preferably, the outer leg of the front C-shaped section and the outer cover are each provided with a magnetic strip. The information carrier and the outer cover are thus magnetically attached, and the magnetic strip on the outer cover can simultaneously form a narrow passe-partout. The information carrier can advantageously be a digital print. Furthermore, it is provided that an opaque back panel is included in the frame behind the light guide.
