Description
A reveal module, a system for closing a wall opening, and a method for installing a reveal module are described. The reveal module is particularly suitable for installation in a wall opening. A wall opening specifically describes an opening in an existing wall of a building. A wall opening comprises, in particular, a lintel, a sill, and a reveal. A reveal is generally understood to be a vertically extending section of a wall opening. Furthermore, a lintel and a sill refer to horizontally oriented sections of a wall opening, with the lintel being a section above the wall opening and the sill a section below. Hereinafter, the lintel, sill, and reveal of a wall opening are referred to as reveal sections. One task to be solved is to specify a reveal module that can serve to simplify and harmonize previously complex construction processes. Another task to be solved is to specify a system for closing a wall opening, in particular for the lateral variable cladding of a wall opening, which shifts work into prefabrication under workshop conditions. These tasks are solved by devices according to the independent claims. Advantageous embodiments and further developments of the devices are the subject of the dependent claims and are further described in the following description and the figures. According to at least one embodiment of the reveal module, the reveal module comprises a frame with at least three side elements. In particular, the reveal module is intended for use in a wall opening of a building, which is a door or a window. Preferably, a frame with three side elements is suitable for use in a door opening, wherein the side elements cover vertical reveal areas and a reveal area in the lintel of the door opening. A floor-level surface in the area of a threshold of the door opening is therefore free of side elements. Alternatively, the frame comprises four side elements that completely cover a reveal area of a window opening. In other words, the frame thus covers the reveal, the lintel, and the sill of a wall opening. The frame thus covers a reveal area of the wall opening at least partially, and in particular completely. The frame thus covers, in particular, the lateral connections of the wall opening at least partially, and in particular completely. The frame extends along the depth of the wall opening. The depth refers in particular to an extension in a spatial direction parallel to a normal vector of the existing wall. The side elements extend, in particular, between a closing element and an opening element, especially a window or door. The opening element is preferably arranged within an insulation layer formed on the existing wall. In particular, the side elements each have a thickness of less than 20 mm, preferably less than 15 mm. Side elements with a small thickness advantageously take up little space. For example, the frame is formed with a CPL-coated melamine resin. This material advantageously exhibits low thermal conductivity as well as high mechanical stability and resistance to moisture. According to at least one embodiment, the reveal module comprises a finishing element with a cover plate. The finishing element is arranged, in particular, on an inner side of the existing wall. Here and in the following, the inner side is the side facing the living space. The cover plate extends at least partially parallel to the inner wall. Preferably, the cover plate covers an area between the frame and the wall opening. In particular, a sealing element is arranged between the finishing element and the existing wall. Furthermore, an integrated lighting element, for example, an LED strip, is optionally arranged on the finishing element. According to at least one embodiment of the reveal module, the frame extends completely through the wall opening. According to at least one embodiment of the reveal module, the end element is connected to the frame via a tongue-and-groove system, allowing for depth adjustment. Preferably, the end element and the frame overlap by a maximum depth of 100 mm, more preferably by a maximum of 50 mm. The tongue-and-groove system allows for the compensation of component and positional tolerances between the reveal module and the wall opening. This compensation capability significantly simplifies the serial production of reveal modules and their installation in wall openings of existing buildings. According to at least one embodiment of the reveal module, an installation space is formed between the frame and the wall opening. This installation space extends over at least 12 mm, preferably at least 15 mm. Concealed installation lines, such as electrical, water, or ventilation pipes, can be arranged within this space. Advantageously, the installation space extends along the entire length of the frame between the wall opening and the frame. In particular, the frame is not in direct contact with the reveal area of the wall opening in the existing wall at any point. According to at least one
