Claims (5)

  1. A method for a user equipment (300), UE, for performing a paging reception, the method comprising: registering to a first network and a second network; when the UE registers to the first network and the second network, determining that a paging collision has happened; selecting a selected network from the first network and the second network to prevent a paging collision on the first network and the second network; in a case that the selected network is associated with an Evolved Packet Core, EPC, network: determining to transmit a requested offset value to the selected network after determining that the paging collision has happened; transmitting, to the selected network, the requested offset value for a paging occasion calculation after the UE determines to transmit the requested offset value to the selected network; receiving, from the selected network, a configured offset value for the paging occasion calculation in response to a transmission of the requested offset value, the configured offset value being different from the requested offset value; forwarding, by a Non-Access-Stratum, NAS, layer of the UE, to a lower layer of the UE, the configured offset value; and performing (212) the paging reception based on a first UE identity, ID, wherein the first UE ID is determined based on the configured offset value.
  2. The method of claim 1, wherein the UE is a Multi-Universal Subscriber Identity Module, Multi-USIM, capable UE.
  3. The method of any one of the preceding claims, wherein in the case that the selected network is associated with the EPC network, the method further comprises: determining whether the UE receives, from the selected network, a signal indicating that the selected network supports receiving the requested offset value; and transmitting the requested offset value to the selected network for the paging occasion calculation in a case that the UE determines that the UE receives, from the selected network, the signal.
  4. The method of any one of the preceding claims, wherein transmitting the requested offset value to the selected network comprises transmitting the requested offset value to the selected network for the paging occasion calculation via a tracking area update procedure or via an attach procedure.
  5. A user equipment (300), UE, for performing a paging reception, the UE (300) comprising: a processor (328); and a memory (334) coupled to the processor (328), wherein the memory (334) stores a computer-executable program that when executed by the processor (328), causes the processor (328) to perform the method of any of claims 1 to 4.

Description

FIELD The present disclosure is generally related to wireless communications and more specifically, to a method for a user equipment, UE, for performing a paging reception and a LTE for performing a paging reception. The 5G NR system is designed to provide flexibility and configurability for optimizing the network services and types, and accommodating various use cases, such as enhanced Mobile Broadband (eMBB), massive Machine-Type Communication (mMTC), and Ultra-Reliable and Low-Latency Communication (URLLC). However, as the demand for radio access continues to increase, there is a need for further improvements in wireless communication in the next-generation wireless communication system. Sony, "Discussion on paging collision avoidance in Multi-SIM", 3GPP TSG RAN WG2 Meeting #113-e, Online meeting, 25 January to 5 February 2021, 3GPP Draft R2-2100900, discusses avoiding paging collisions in Multi-SIM, The document discusses that in case of paging collision one of the paging occasion must be moved so they are not overlapping. One proposed solution for moving the paging occasion of one of the SIMs is using a changed UE_ID, or an offset to the existing UE_ID. The document describes solutions wherein the UE indicates a collision to the network, and wherein the UE may also indicate how much the paging occasion needs to be moved to avoid paging collisions. In s first solution with a fixed UE_ID, the RRC signaling in LTE/EPC is not affected. The UE_ID is generated in NAS and is signaled to the RAN to be used for paging. All added signaling when connected to EPC is on NAS level. The signaling of UE_ID is the same in 5GC as in EPC. In a second solution, instead of having a fixed UE_ID, an offset is added to the existing UE_ID and thereby the position of the paging is moved. This offset can be signaled in the same way as the fixed UE_1D with NAS signaling and adding on offset in the paging messages in the S1AP and NGAP protocols. 3GPP Technical Report TR 23.761, V1.3.0 (2021-03), "Study on system enablers for devices having multiple Universal Subscriber Identity Modules (USIM)" (Release 17), discusses system enhancements for allowing better support of Multi-USIM devices. SUMMARY The above and other objects are achieved by a method for a user equipment, UE, for performing a paging reception and a UE for performing a paging reception as defined in the independent claims, respectively. Preferred embodiments are set forth in the dependent claims. In the following only the parts of the descriptions explicitly indicated as being according to the invention as defined in the independent claims are covered by the independent claims. The rest of the following description and figures (even if named embodiment(s), implementation(s), example(s), aspect(s) etc.) is not or is
