INSERTER ASSEMBLY FOR INFUSION SETS

Abstract

A method of placing an infusion set. The method comprises: coupling an infusion set cartridge to an inserter assembly, adhering a portion of an infusion set contained within the infusion set cartridge to an infusion site, latching an insertion bias member of the inserter assembly in a stressed state by displacing a first portion of the inserter assembly toward a second portion of the inserter assembly, releasing the insertion bias member from the stressed state by displacing the first portion of the inserter assembly away from the second portion of the inserter assembly, propelling an insertion driver and an insertion sharp of the infusion set cartridge coupled to the insertion driver toward the infusion site, and releasing the infusion set from the infusion set cartridge.
