EP-4678144-A3 - HEART VALVE PROSTHESIS AND DELIVERY
Abstract
A delivery system for delivering a prosthetic heart valve prosthesis to a native valve sinus of a patient, the valve prosthesis comprising a mesh frame and a sinus locator, the delivery system comprising: a grasper configured to be coupled to a proximal portion of the sinus locator of the valve prosthesis; and a distal sheath configured to receive a distal portion of the mesh frame, the distal sheath having a proximal edge that overlaps the mesh frame; and a proximal sheath configured to receive a proximal portion of the mesh frame, the proximal sheath having a distal edge that overlaps the mesh frame and that is spaced apart from the proximal edge of the distal sheath to form a longitudinal gap that permits a section of the mesh frame to be exposed therethrough between the proximal and distal edges, wherein the delivery system supports the prosthesis in a delivery configuration wherein (i) the sinus locator is engaged with the grasper and (ii) the proximal and distal sheaths support the mesh frame in a collapsed state with a medial portion of the mesh frame being exposed through the longitudinal gap, the delivery system being configured to permit expansion of the sinus locator and to subsequently permit expansion of the mesh frame within the sinus locator upon separation of the proximal sheath from the distal sheath, the grasper being configured to disengage from the proximal portion of the sinus locator for releasing the valve prosthesis.
