Abstract

A battery module includes an electrode assembly (20) including a first electrode plate (22), a second electrode plate (24), and a separator (26), a case (30) accommodating the electrode assembly (20), and a deformation prevention part (50) having a substantially similar geometry to a periphery of the case (30), the deformation prevention part (50) surrounding the periphery of the case (30), thereby forming a unit module (10). Because a facing distance between internal components of a secondary battery is kept uniform, the charging and discharging efficiency of the secondary battery is improved, and the lifespan of the secondary battery is prolonged.
