Abstract

- Animal stunning device (44) with a housing (14) for the movable storage of a firing pin (20) which can be ejected from an opening (46) of the housing (14), an intermediate piece (12) with a drive unit for ejecting the firing pin (20), a movable firing pin (22) which can be brought into a firing preparation position by cocking before the drive unit is triggered, and with a release lever (24) for triggering the drive unit, characterized by that at least one of the following elements is also provided: a) a cartridge ejection element (80) fixed to the intermediate piece (12) but axially displaceable, which is suitable for at least partially moving out a cartridge (30) which is inserted into a cartridge chamber (108) formed in the intermediate piece (12).
- Animal stunning device (44) according to the foregoing, characterized in that the cartridge ejection element (80) has a U-shaped or cup-shaped cross-section.
- Animal stunning device (44) according to the preceding claim, characterized in that at least one radially inwardly projecting stop is formed in the area of one end of the cartridge ejection element (80) and/or a radially outwardly projecting stop is formed on an outer surface of the intermediate piece (12).
- Animal stunning device (44) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that corresponding threaded sections are formed on the cartridge ejection element (80) and on the intermediate piece (12) such that the cartridge ejection element (80) can be screwed onto the intermediate piece (12).
- Animal stunning device (44) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the intermediate piece (12) is connected via a thread to a head piece (16) that can be screwed onto the intermediate piece (12), characterized in that the thread is multi-start and/or designed as a modified trapezoidal thread (96) with rounded flanks.
- Animal stunning device (44) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the trigger lever (24) is completely overmolded with plastic at least in the area of the free movable end and/or the housing (14) is at least partially enclosed in an area surrounding the firing pin (20) by an additional jacket sleeve (102) such that at least one additional gas ejection path is formed.
- Animal stunning device (44) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that, in addition to the intermediate piece (12), an alternative intermediate piece is provided, wherein in one of the intermediate pieces (12) a centrally arranged cartridge chamber (108) for a centerfire cartridge is provided and in the other intermediate piece a decentrally arranged cartridge chamber for a rimfire cartridge is provided.
- Animal stunning device (44) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the cartridge ejection element (80) and/or the intermediate piece (12) are designed such that that the cartridge ejection element (80) is secured against rotation at least during axial displacement.
- Animal stunning device (44) according to the preceding claim, characterized in that at least one radially projecting projection (118) and a corresponding recess (116) are formed on the cartridge ejection element (80) and on the intermediate piece (12).
- Animal stunning device (44) according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the cartridge ejection element (80) and the intermediate piece (12) are made of the same material.
- Animal stunning device (44) according to the preceding claim, characterized in that the cartridge ejection element (80) and the intermediate piece (12) are made of a tempered steel.
Description
The invention relates to a device for stunning livestock. Out of DE 20 2022 102 648 U1 A cattle stunning device is known comprising a housing for the movable storage of a firing pin, which can be ejected from an opening in the housing, a drive unit for ejecting the firing pin, and a movable firing pin which can be cocked to trigger the drive unit and be brought into a firing preparation position. In the cocked state, the firing pin protrudes from the housing at least with one outer end. At least one elastic buffer element is arranged or formed at the outer end of the firing pin. Based on the prior art, the invention aims to further improve the ease of use and the associated safety of a livestock stunning device. The problem is solved according to the invention with the features of claim 1. Further practical embodiments and advantages of the invention are described in connection with the dependent claims. A cattle stunning device according to the invention has the following elements: a housing for the movable storage of a firing bolt that can be ejected from an opening in the housing, an intermediate piece with a drive unit for ejecting the firing bolt, a movable firing pin which can be brought into a firing preparation position by cocking before the triggering of the drive unit and a release lever to trigger the drive unit, including at least the following additional element: a) a cartridge ejection element fixed to the intermediate piece but axially displaceable, which is suitable for at least partially ejecting a cartridge which is inserted into a cartridge chamber formed in the intermediate piece. Optionally, a safety element that functionally interacts with the release lever may also be provided, which is movable between at least one locking position for locking the release lever and at least one release position for unlocking the release lever and/or A safety element such as the one mentioned above ensures in a locked position that the trigger lever is locked and thus permanently prevents accidental triggering, especially if the animal stunning device is placed roughly on the ground or accidentally falls so awkwardly that contact with the ground or other objects causes force to act on the trigger lever. Both elements are relatively movable and counteract the risk of operator error or injury. The safety element significantly reduces the risk of misfiring. The cartridge ejection element eliminates the need for separate, pointed tools, which were frequently used in the past for removing fired cartridges. The safety element can be designed as a locking ring element that at least partially surrounds the housing. In this case, the safety element is a partially annular or fully annular element. Such a safety element can be mounted relatively easily and designed to be relatively movable in the circumferential direction. Furthermore, such a safety element can be arranged to surround the release lever. In this case, the release lever itself can serve as a stop for the safety element.
