Description

The invention relates to a method and a device for producing marked cardboard strips. The marking serves to divide the cardboard strips into sections of defined length, the length being adaptable to the respective intended use. A cardboard strip section of defined length can be used, in particular, as edge protection in the construction and/or furniture industries. Preferred customers for the marked cardboard strips produced according to the proposed method are therefore companies from the construction and/or furniture industries. State of the art An edge protector strip often has a U-shaped cross-section, allowing it to be easily slid onto the edge of a panel, such as a tabletop, that needs protection. The edge of the panel is then protected by the strip, which is particularly advantageous during transport. Once the panel reaches its destination, the strip is removed and usually disposed of immediately. Therefore, an edge protector strip is a relatively short-lived product. Therefore, inexpensive materials are typically used to manufacture edge protection strips. Furthermore, materials with a certain degree of flexibility are preferred, as this provides a damping effect under impact. Consequently, edge protection strips are often made of plastic, particularly foam plastic. However, the use of plastic edge protection strips is not recommended for ecological reasons. An ecologically sound alternative is the use of cardboard strips. This material is made from renewable resources and can be recycled cost-effectively, thus conserving resources and protecting the environment. Therefore, cardboard strips are used in the process according to the invention. The present invention addresses the objective of marking cardboard strips in order to divide them into cardboard strip sections of defined length. Furthermore, the cardboard strip sections should be as easy as possible to detach from the cardboard strips, particularly without the use of a tool, in order to put them to their intended use, preferably as edge protection. To solve the problem, the method with the features of claim 1 and the device with the features of claim 7 are proposed. Advantageous embodiments of the invention can be found in the respective dependent claims. Disclosure of the invention The proposed method for producing marked cardboard strips includes the following steps: a) Providing at least two cardboard strips with a U-shaped cross-section, nested inside each other, b) Securing the cardboard strips, for example by clamping or clamping, and c) Marking the cardboard strips by incisions and/or notches, which are made at least at regular intervals in at least one side wall of the cardboard strips using a cutting or sawing device. In the proposed method, notches and/or notches are made into the cardboard strips as markers. These divide the cardboard strips into sections of defined length. Preferably, a length is chosen that is particularly suitable for using the cardboard strip sections as edge protection. Before use as edge protection, the individual cardboard strip sections simply need to be separated from the cardboard strips. Thanks to the markings, measuring to divide the cardboard strips into defined sections is no longer necessary. The individual cardboard strip sections can be easily separated from the cardboard strips by simply bending, snapping, and/or tearing them off, thanks to the pre-cut notches and/or cuts. This weakens the cross-section of the cardboard strips in the area of these notches and/or cuts. Therefore, the use of a tool for separating, especially for cutting and/or trimming, the cardboard strips is unnecessary. This significantly simplifies the use of the cardboard strips or sections as edge protection. Since the separation of the cardboard strip sections from the cardboard strips advantageously only takes place during use, the cardboard strips marked according to the proposed method can be produced and stored as long goods. As long goods, the marked cardboard strips can also be used as The strips can be packed and transported in a compact package. This means that, in general, the handling of the marked cardboard strips is simplified. The proposed nested arrangement of the cardboard strips allows multiple strips to be marked or cut with a single cut. This enables the efficient and cost-effective production of marked cardboard strips in high volumes. The nested arrangement of the cardboard strips can be implemented in various ways. For example, the cardboard strips can be inserted into one another in such a way that they either lie inside each other or at least interlock. The former requires cardboard strips of different sizes, particularly different widths. Preferably, the cardboard strips are available in at least two different widths so that they can be inserted into each other or nested together in pairs. The use of cardboard strips of different widths has the advantage that sections cut from the strips can be used
