Method and device for controlling the journey of an autonomous vehicle operating in manual mode

Abstract

The present invention relates to a method and device for controlling the route of a vehicle (10). The vehicle (10) is configured to operate in autonomous mode with a level of autonomy exceeding a predetermined level, with the vehicle (10) operating in manual mode under the supervision of a driver. The current route of the vehicle (10) is determined from data received from sensors of an on-board system without route calculation by an on-board navigation system. The travel time of the current route is determined based on real-time road traffic information received via a V2X connection. The travel time is compared to a typical travel time for this route, and a message is displayed based on the result of the comparison. Figure 1 (for the abstract)
