Abstract
A vertical takeoff and landing aircraft. The aircraft includes an air inlet (22) connected to a cooling component (14). The aircraft further includes a horizontal drive propeller (16) arranged to generate airflow in the air inlet (22). The aircraft also includes a control system arranged to receive a trajectory command as input and output an actuation command for a set of actuators. At least some of the actuators are capable of generating predominantly vertical motion. During predominantly vertical flight, the control system is further arranged to receive a cooling requirement as input and to output a rotation command for the propeller (16). During predominantly vertical flight, the control system is further arranged to determine the actuation command based on the rotation command for the propeller (16). [Fig. 3]
