Abstract

The invention relates to a catoptric focusing and collection optical system with an optical axis Δ and focal point F1, comprising a first pair of axisymmetric reflecting mirrors (S1, S2) about the optical axis Δ, adapted to focus a collimated incident light beam at the focal point F1. Each of the mirrors in the first pair (S1, S2) has a correction zone (S1c, S2c; S3c, S4c) for the radial profile, exhibiting a predefined continuous variation of eccentricity, the focal point(s) and the focal axis remaining identical, such that the light rays of a beam emitted from the focal point F1 have a regular radial distribution at the output of the optical system (1).
