GB-2644656-A - Method of controlling tensile-splitting and hydro-shearing parameters during completion of enhanced geothermal system wells
Abstract
A method for geothermal energy production, comprising providing a wellbore 1000 in a formation, wherein the formation comprises both a non-fractured 1001 and fractured 1002 formations. The wellbore comprises a lateral, which comprises non-cemented 1004 and cemented sections 1005, and further wherein the wellbore comprises casings, wherein the casings comprise casing joints 1010, wherein cemented/cementing sleeves 1008 and flow control sleeves 1009 are arranged between casing joints, wherein sections of the wellbore in the fractured formation comprise cement isolation plugs 1006; creating a propped tensile-split conduit 1003 in one of the cemented sections, located in the non-fractured formation; installing a circulation sleeve 1007 near the heel of the wellbore, installing a float shoe 1012 and a plurality of standoff band turbalizers 1013; controlling the stimulation or isolation in the flow control sleeves, circulation sleeve and cementing sleeves between an open, closed, or choked position.
