INTELLIGENT TOOL AND METHOD SUPPORTING THE PATENT GRANTING PROCESS

Abstract

Nowadays the subject matter of patent applications often relates to disruptive technologies, which lead to the development of new products, systems and methods at a fast pace. As a result, inventors need to have a fast outcome to their complex patent applications, in order to decide if and how their novel ideas can be exploited. Unfortunately, nowadays, the examination and patent granting procedures remain slow when compared to the fast pace of technological evolution. The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) tool and method proposed by this invention uses Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to retrieve prior art documentation, support patent application drafting, and assess novelty and inventive step with effectively reasoned and reliable technical argumentation. The tool supports end-users, such as inventors, patent attorneys and patent examiners, from their own perspective.
