SMALL DEVICE WITH BUILT-IN QA/QC FOR COLLECTION AND SAFE TRANSPORT OF GASES AND VOLATILE ORGANIC COMPOUNDS SAMPLES

Abstract

The present invention refers to a device and methods for obtaining and transporting samples of gases and volatile organic compounds by an operator, manned and unmanned vehicles. The device incorporates techniques that meet quality assurance/control (QA/QC) requirements. Advantages of the present invention are the reliability and representativeness of the sample, the preservation of the sample without decomposition, reaction or contamination, its aerodynamic housing, the possibility of being used as a payload in vehicles, the realization of isokinetic sampling, the possibility of temporal and spatial programming of the sampling, the possibility of producing a large number of devices due to short assembly time and the sample tagging with temporal and spatial parameters. An additional advantage is the ability to attach a specially designed cyclone to the device's nozzle to trap particles, separating gases and vapors from particles, and carry particle samples for analysis.
