A RAILWAY SAFETY DEVICE AND METHOD FOR PREVENTING SPAD

Abstract

This Hong Kong short term has disclosed a railway safety device and method for preventing running past dangerous signals (SPAD) The device includes a visual sensor connected together with an analysis module The visual sensor includes a forward visual sensor and a rear visual sensor for obtaining data of the area in front of the train and the driver's behavior data inside the cockpit The analysis module receives the data from the visual sensors and uses computer vision algorithms to analyze and process the visual data and generates an alarm signal when a hazardous situation is detected while storing the visual data corresponding to the detected hazardous situation in a data storage unit The device and method can reduce the occurrence of SPAD events and mitigate the damage caused by such events
