HU-P2400373-A1 - ELECTROLYZING CELL STACK WITH INTERCHANGEABLE FLOW INLETS AND OUTLETS FOR CARBON DIOXIDE ELECTROLYSIS

Abstract

The present invention relates to a carbon dioxide (CO2) electrolyser provided in the form of an electrolyzing cell stack equipped with carbon dioxide and anolyte inlets, as well as product gas or anolyte outlets that are interchangeable from the point of view of respective substance flows. The essence of the electrolyser is in its symmetrical design. At stack level, the symmetrical design is represented in equal stack inlet/outlet connections provided by cathode side outlet/inlet connection ports (12, 12?) and anolyte outlet/inlet connection ports (22, 22?) and chimneys (13). At cathode or anode half-cell level, the symmetrical design is represented in equal inlet/outlet side cell-connector channels (16) and flow patterns within the membrane electrode assembly (18).
