HU-P2400396-A1 - SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR REAL-TIME ALIGNMENT OF A VIRTUAL IMAGE ON AN AUGMENTED REALITY DISPLAY
Abstract
The subject-matter of the invention is a method for real-time alignment of a virtual image to real environment on a display of an augmented reality (AR) device, which comprises:- the initial recording of the electromagnetic data of a target object in the user's field of view (FOV) with a first imaging device, where the electromagnetic data contain wavelengths that are not perceptible to the human eye;- creating an initial image visible to the human eye based on electromagnetic data, and projecting said initial image onto the display of the AR device;- determining a first D distance to the target object in the user's field of view with a first measuring sensor;- determining the angle (?) between the optical axis and the target object based on the first D distance and the fixed distance d between the first imaging device and the user's eye;- calculating a pixel shift value that shall be applied to the first image so that the first image projected on the AR device display would be in line with the target object in the real environment; and- re-displaying the first image on the screen with the pixel shift value so that the first image would overlap the target object in the real environment. The subject-matter of the invention also relates to an augmented reality (AR) display device.
