Description
Chamber 2 contains solid particles and includes a gas injection means 4, the gas being injected to fluidize the solid particles and create a fluidized bed of solid particles 5 in a bubbling manner, the fluidized solid particles circulating along the circulation direction (D). High-temperature flat metal products 3 are placed in the chamber 2 on support means such that their wide surfaces 3a are parallel to the direction (D) of circulation of the fluidized particles. In a preferred embodiment, the direction (D) is vertical , and the slab 3 is placed on the support along its edge 3c such that its wide surface 3a is parallel to the vertical direction. This not only increases the heat transfer efficiency but also helps to avoid deformation of the product. The high-temperature flat metal products, when placed in the chamber 2, have a temperature higher than 400°C and may be, for example, slabs or plates and may be made of steel.
