Description

More precisely, a first aspect of the present disclosure relates to a method for color-mapping images of video content according to a color mapping function. The method comprises: on a plurality of sequential images of video content and with respect to at least one of the plurality of sequential images: selecting a reference color mapping function from a reference set of color mapping functions according to a visual feature determined from the at least one image; determining a reference color mapping function based on a verification step if the selected reference color mapping function is different from a pre-selected color mapping function for a previous image in the plurality of sequential images; and repeatedly applying the determined reference color mapping function to the at least one image to produce a corresponding color map image, wherein the reference set includes reference color mapping functions associated with a reference visual feature.
