In one embodiment, a tangible, non-temporary, machine-readable medium contains a machine-readable instruction, which, when executed by one or more processors of the short-range free-space light (FSO) transmitter, causes the short-range FSO transmitter to identify location information associated with an FSO receiver. Based on the location data, the transmitter can identify one or more dynamic transmission parameters applicable to the location of the FSO receiver and perform FSO transmission using the implemented one or more dynamic transmission parameters.
