Description
Embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. The present invention provides, for example, the following: (Item 1) An auxiliary device for insertion into a blood vessel or into a lumen with a small inner diameter, wherein the auxiliary device has a proximal end and a distal end, and at least one positioning element, and the position and orientation of the at least one positioning element can be determined using an electromagnetic position detection system. - The positioning element is positioned directly adjacent to the distal end of the auxiliary device, or at least close to the distal end of the auxiliary device, and the positioning element is configured to capture an AC electromagnetic field. - The distal end region of the auxiliary device extends from the distal end of the auxiliary device to the proximal end of the positioning element such that the positioning element is positioned within the distal end region. - In that portion of the distal end region where the positioning element is located, at least in cross-section, the auxiliary device has a low bending stiffness of less than 10 Nmm² . - At least two wires are led from the positioning element to the proximal end of the auxiliary device and are electrically connected to at least the positioning element, - An auxiliary device in which the length of the positioning element is at least 10 times greater than the outer diameter of the positioning element. (Item 2) The auxiliary device according to item 1, wherein the position-finding element is configured to have a total inductance of 2 mH to 4 mH. (Item 3) The auxiliary device according to item 1 or 2, wherein the positioning element is configured to have an electrical resistance of 70 ohms to 100 ohms. (Item 4) The auxiliary device according to at least one of items 1 to 3, wherein the at least one positioning element is formed from at least one coil having two coil ends and an outer diameter of 0.5 millimeters or less. (Item 5) The auxiliary device according to item 4, further comprising at least one further positioning element located within the distal end region and formed by a coil, wherein the at least two coils are not electrically connected to each other, and each of the coils is electrically connected to at least two wires, the wires being led from each of the coils to the proximal end of the auxiliary device. (Item 6) The auxiliary device according to item 4, wherein the at least one coil is wound around a coil core formed of a single piece extending at least from the distal end of the coil to the proximal end of the coil, or around the coil core formed of several pieces movable together in a row, the coil core extending at least from the distal end of the coil to the proximal end of the coil. (Item 7) The auxiliary device according to item 6, wherein the first coil end of the coil is electrically connected to the first of the at least two wires, the second coil end of the coil is electrically connected to the distal end of the coil core, and the proximal end of the coil core is electrically connected to the second of the at least two wires, thereby establishing a conductive connection between the coil core and the second coil end and the second wire. (Item 8) The auxiliary device according to item 6, wherein the first coil end of the coil is electrically connected to the first of the at least two wires, the second coil end of the coil is electrically connected to the distal end of the coil core, the coil core extends from the distal end of the coil to the proximal end of the auxiliary device and is one of the at least two wires of the auxiliary device. (Item 9) The auxiliary device according to at least one of items 4, 6 to 8, wherein the coil has at least one bending section in which the coil is relatively less rigid than the rest of the coil, and the bending section is formed such that the number of windings per unit length of the coil in this section is less than that of the rest of the coil. (Item 10) The auxiliary device according to at least one of items 1 to 4, wherein the at least one positioning element is formed by a coil arrangement including several coils connected in series, the coil arrangement having at least one bending section located between two of the coils of the coil arrangement and being relatively flexible compared to the coils of the coil arrangement, a first coil located at the proximal end of the coil arrangement being electrically connected at its proximal coil end to a first wire of the at least two wires, and a further coil located at the distal end of the coil arrangement being electrically connected at its distal coil end to a second wire of the at least two wires. (Item 11) The auxiliary device according to item 10, wherein each coil in the coil arrangement is wound around each coil core extending from the proximal end of each coil to the distal end of that coil, such that no coil core is located in the bending s
