Description
The present invention relates to a composition comprising platelet-rich plasma and a collection unit for said composition . The composition may be advantageously injectable (i.e., in liquid form) or applicable and/or sutureable over skin lesions (i.e., gel form, particularly gel patch ). The polymer scaffold is placed in a gelling container (21) and is manufactured in detail using a biopolymer such as polylactic acid. The polymer scaffold functions as a support matrix for the PRP-containing composition of the gel foam, maintaining its flexibility. Thus, this scaffold contributes to realizing the gel foam composition, in particular, an applicable and sutureable patch . Furthermore, by simply changing the collection unit (20), it is possible to obtain two compositions having two different viscosities (i.e., in the form of a liquid or a gel patch ). In detail, polymer scaffolds containing polylactic acid, depending on their thickness, shape, and form, provide support for PRP-containing compositions. These scaffolds can support compositions with a good degree of rigidity and no material loss, while also making the patch more flexible and adaptable to the anatomical area to which it will be applied. Furthermore, the presence of the scaffold allows for suturing of gel-form compositions onto the skin around the wound. Additionally, since the scaffold is made using naturally antimicrobial materials, the risk of infection is reduced. The housing (not shown) is capable of removing substantially most of the air from the gelling container (21), which has the advantage of preventing air bubbles from forming on or inside the gel patch .
