Description
The complete disclosures of the patents, patent documents, and publications listed herein are incorporated by reference in whole, as if each were incorporated individually. Various variations and modifications of the present invention will be apparent to those skilled in the art without departing from the scope and spirit of the invention. It should be understood that the present invention is not intended to be unduly limited by the exemplary embodiments and examples described herein, and that such examples and embodiments are presented only as examples within the scope of the invention, which is intended to be limited only by the claims set forth herein below. Some embodiments of the invention are described in the following sections [1]–[24]. [1] A gel composition for use as an adaptable film adhesive bandage, comprising: Silicone-containing film-forming polymers; Amine-rich adhesion promoter; Volatile solvents; and active ingredient The gel composition comprises, wherein a film cast from the gel composition is self-supporting on a biological substrate and can be peeled off from the substrate. [2] The gel composition according to item 1, further comprising a penetration enhancer. [3] The gel composition according to item 2, wherein the penetration enhancer is selected from the group consisting of: diethylene glycol monoethyl ether, diisopropyl adipate, dipropylene glycol, ethyl oleate, glyceryl monooleate, isopropyl myristate, isopropyl palmitate, isostearic acid, lauryl lactate, methyl laurate, octyl salicylate, octyldodecanol, oleic acid, oleyl alcohol, oleyl oleate, propylene glycol monolaurate, sorbitan monooleate, triacetin, and any combination thereof. [4] The gel composition according to item 1, wherein the active ingredient comprises lidocaine. [5] The gel composition according to item 2, wherein the active ingredient comprises lidocaine. [6] The gel composition according to item 3, wherein the active ingredient comprises lidocaine. [7] The combination according to claim 4, wherein the lidocaine is present in an amount between approximately 1% by weight and approximately 5% by weight. A self-supporting film cast from a molded product. [8] A self-supporting film cast from the composition described in item 5, wherein the lidocaine is present in an amount between approximately 1% by weight and approximately 5% by weight. [9] A self-supporting film cast from the composition described in item 6, wherein the lidocaine is present in an amount between approximately 1% by weight and approximately 5% by weight. [10] A gel composition for use as an adaptable film adhesive bandage, comprising: Silicone-containing film-forming polymers; Amine-rich adhesion promoter; Volatile solvent; Penetration enhancers; and Lidocaine The gel composition comprising the above. [11] A film-forming gel composition for use as an adaptive film adhesive bandage, comprising: Silicone-containing polymers; Tackifiers containing silicate tackifying resins; Coagulants containing cationic polymers; and Volatile solvents The gel composition comprising the above, wherein a film cast from the composition is self-supporting on a biomaterial and can be peeled from the material without substantially impairing the integrity of the film or the material. [12] Adaptive film adhesive bandages: Silicone-containing film-forming polymers; Amine-rich adhesion promoter; Volatile solvent; Penetration enhancers; and Lidocaine The adaptable film adhesive bandage, including the above. [13] A gel composition for use as an adaptable film adhesive bandage, comprising: Silicone-containing film-forming polymers; Amine-rich adhesion promoter; Volatile solvents; and active ingredient The gel composition comprises, wherein a film cast from the gel composition is self-supporting on a biological substrate and can be peeled off from the substrate. [14] The gel composition according to item 13, further comprising a penetration enhancer. [15] The gel composition according to item 14, wherein the penetration enhancer is selected from the group consisting of: diethylene glycol monoethyl ether, diisopropyl adipate, dipropylene glycol, ethyl oleate, glyceryl monooleate, isopropyl myristate, isopropyl palmitate, isostearic acid, lauryl lactate, methyl laurate, octyl salicylate, octyldodecanol, oleic acid, oleyl alcohol, oleyl oleate, propylene glycol monolaurate, sorbitan monooleate, triacetin, and any combination thereof. [16] The gel composition according to item 13, wherein the active ingredient comprises lidocaine. [17] The gel composition according to item 14, wherein the active ingredient comprises lidocaine. [18] The gel composition according to item 15, wherein the active ingredient comprises lidocaine. [19] A self-supporting film cast from the composition of item 16, wherein the lidocaine is present in an amount between about 1% by weight and about 5% by weight. [20] A self-supporting film cast from the composition of item 17, wherein the lidocaine is present in an
