Description

Therefore, the present invention provides the use of at least one peptide according to the present invention, as defined above, or a composition comprising the same, for non-therapeutic cosmetic purposes to improve the overall condition of hair and to treat its shortcomings. The treatment consists of applying an effective amount of at least one peptide according to the present invention to hair that needs it. Preferably, the treatment according to the present invention is localized. The present invention encompasses a non-therapeutic topical treatment method for cosmetic purposes, for maintaining and improving the appearance and overall condition of hair, and in particular for preventing graying, comprising topically applying an effective amount of the peptide or a mixture of peptides according to the present invention, or a composition according to the present invention containing the peptide or a mixture of peptides, to the hair of a subject in need, wherein the peptide is as previously defined. The treatment is directed toward all types of hair, including body hair and scalp hair (including scalp hair, beard, eyelashes, and eyebrows). A "non-therapeutic cosmetic treatment" refers to a treatment applied to healthy hair (as opposed to a pathological condition) with the aim of beautifying it or (as a preventative measure) avoiding aesthetic damage. "Topical treatment " or "topical use" means the place where it is applied, the application in which it is intended to act. The peptide or composition according to the present invention can be applied topically to a target region. The "effective" dose depends on several factors, such as the patient's age, condition, severity of the disorder, and how it is administered. The effective dose refers to a non-toxic amount sufficient to produce the desired effect. According to other features, the beauty treatment method according to the present invention can be combined with one or more other treatment methods that target hair, such as phototherapy, heat, or aromatherapy. According to the present invention, it is possible to provide a device or kit having several compartments intended for carrying out the method described above, which may, for example, and not limited to, include a composition containing at least one peptide of the present invention in a first compartment, and additional excipients and/or activators in a second compartment, where the compositions contained in the first and second compartments are combination compositions for simultaneous, separate, or chronologically separate use in one of the treatments defined above.
