Description
The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus comprising: an image forming unit rotatable around a rotation axis extending in a first direction and including a photoreceptor that carries a toner image and a transfer member that transfers the toner image to a sheet; a fixing unit that fixes the toner image transferred by the transfer member to the sheet; an inversion transport unit that inverts and transports the sheet transported by the fixing unit; a transport path that guides the sheet inverted by the inversion transport unit back toward the transfer member; a transport unit that transports the sheet in the transport path , comprising a roller shaft and a roller part fixed to the roller shaft ; and a drive source that drives the photoreceptor and the transport unit. The device comprises a drive input unit attached to the roller shaft and inputting the driving force transmitted from the drive source to the conveying unit, wherein the drive source is positioned between the transfer member and the fixing unit in a second direction parallel to the sheet conveying direction in the conveying unit , at least a part of the drive input unit and at least a part of the drive source are in the same position in the first direction, at least a part of the drive input unit and at least a part of the drive source are in the same position in a third direction perpendicular to the first and second directions, and the drive input unit and the drive source are positioned far apart from each other in the second direction. Furthermore, the present invention relates to an image forming apparatus comprising: an image forming unit that is rotatable about a rotation axis extending in a first direction and includes a photoreceptor that carries a toner image and a transfer member that transfers the toner image to a sheet; a fixing unit that fixes the toner image transferred by the transfer member to the sheet; an inversion transport unit that inverts and transports the sheet transported by the fixing unit; a transport path that guides the sheet inverted by the inversion transport unit back toward the transfer member; a transport unit that transports the sheet in the transport path, the transport unit having a roller shaft and a roller part fixed to the roller shaft; and a drive source that drives the photoreceptor and the transport unit. The device comprises a drive input unit attached to the roller shaft and inputting the driving force transmitted from the drive source to the conveying unit, wherein the drive source is positioned between the transfer member and the fixing unit in a second direction parallel to the horizontal direction and perpendicular to the first direction, at least a part of the drive input unit and at least a part of the drive source are in the same position in the first direction, at least a part of the drive input unit and at least a part of the drive source are in the same position in a third direction perpendicular to the first and second directions, and the drive input unit and the drive source are positioned far apart from each other in the second direction.
