Description
The cell population may originate from a single individual or from multiple individuals. Preferably, the cell population is obtained from a biological sample or specimen of one or more individuals, such as a whole blood or bone marrow sample or specimen. The individual is preferably a human or an animal, particularly a mammal. The individual is preferably immunized to a protein antigen, which may be of the same species as the individual or a different species, and is particularly an infectious agent . Immunity may be innate, for example, if the protein antigen originates from an infectious agent that previously infected the individual, or it may be induced by administering the individual with the protein antigen or a part thereof, or nucleic acid, DNA, or RNA encoding the protein antigen or a part thereof, i.e., by active immunization or vaccination. Protein antigens can originate from any type of organism. Preferably, protein antigens are derived from infectious agents or human or animal proteins.
