Description
This invention relates to a waterproof structure and a method for constructing a waterproof structure, and more particularly to a waterproof structure and a method for constructing a waterproof structure installed at the ridge-off section of a ridge-off roof. Traditionally, the ridge-end sections of a ridge-end roof have a complex structure at the joint, making them highly susceptible to leaks and thus requiring careful waterproofing. A waterproofing component for such ridge-end sections of a ridge-end roof, as shown in Patent Document 1, exists. Patent Document 1 discloses a waterproofing component applied to the ridge-off section of a ridge-off roof, where a smaller roof slopes in the opposite direction from the main roof from the middle of the main roof's slope. The waterproofing component is integrally formed by bending a metal plate and consists of a flashing plate along the upper surface of the main roof's gable, a gable cover plate with its side surface folded back along the main roof's gable from the upper ridge end of the flashing plate to the ridge line of the smaller roof, a flashing plate folded back from the lower edge of the flashing plate towards the smaller roof and extending along the upper surface of the smaller roof, a smaller roof-side ridge capping folded back along the other slope surface of the smaller roof with the line corresponding to the ridge line of the smaller roof at the upper ridge end of the flashing plate as the boundary, and a waterproofing plate that closes the space between the flashing plate and the side surface of the smaller roof-side ridge capping protruding from the surface of the flashing plate along the main roof's gable.
