JP-2026075475-A - Writing instruments for medical professionals
Abstract
[Challenge] To efficiently obtain medical information and thereby improve the efficiency of medical operations. [Solution] Medical information is inscribed on the circumferential surface of the main body. In this case, the medical information can include at least one of the following: blood gas analysis, arrhythmia management, and ventilator reference values. This configuration allows medical personnel to easily obtain medical information by visually checking the circumferential surface of the writing instrument they carry for record-keeping during medical work, thereby significantly improving the efficiency of medical work even for less experienced medical professionals. Claims (3)
- A writing instrument characterized by having medical information inscribed on the periphery of its body.
- The writing instrument according to claim 1, characterized in that the medical information includes at least one of blood gases, arrhythmia management, and ventilator reference values.
- The writing instrument according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that a scale marking is indicated on the circumferential surface.
Description
This invention relates to a writing instrument suitable for use by medical professionals. Healthcare professionals need to keep records in the course of their work, and therefore always carry writing instruments with them. A common writing instrument used by healthcare professionals is the ballpoint pen disclosed in Patent Document 1 below. Japanese Patent Publication No. 2000-52686 This is a first configuration diagram showing the components of writing instrument 1.This is a second diagram showing the configuration of writing instrument 1.This is a third configuration diagram showing the components of writing instrument 1. The following describes embodiments of the writing instrument according to the present invention with reference to the drawings. Figure 1 shows a writing instrument 1 as an embodiment of the writing instrument according to the present invention. This writing instrument 1 is, as an example, a multi-color ballpoint pen with a mechanical pencil function, and comprises a body 11, multiple ballpoint pen refills (not shown) housed within the body 11, an operating part 12 for pushing the ballpoint pen refills to the tip, and a clip 13 for securing the writing instrument 1 to a clothing pocket or the like. The main body 11 is composed of two divisible cylindrical bodies 11a and 11b, and a tip 11c attached to the end of the cylindrical body 11b. In this case, 11 is made of resin. As shown in Figure 1, this writing instrument 1 has medical information (hereinafter also referred to as "medical information") Im inscribed on the circumferential surface 20 of the main body 12. The medical information Im includes blood gas reference values, arrhythmia management, and ventilator reference values. Specifically, the blood gas reference values include pH, PaO2, PaCO2, HCO3-, and Lac; the arrhythmia management includes management for ventricular tachycardia; and the ventilator reference values include ventilation rate, tidal volume, minute ventilation, and end-tidal carbon dioxide partial pressure. These are items/actions required when life is in danger, and are useful for rapid and accurate treatment in time-sensitive medical situations. Furthermore, as shown in Figure 3, the scale markings Sm are indicated on the circumferential surface 20 of the main body 12. This section explains how to use this writing instrument 1. The writing instrument 1 according to the present invention is an item that can be easily picked up as it is always carried with the user. In addition, for example, when blood gas data is obtained, it is immediately clear whether it is normal or abnormal, contributing to the determination of treatment strategies. Furthermore, when an arrhythmia occurs, it is immediately clear what actions should be taken, whether or not to administer an electric shock, and who to call, contributing to effective life-saving. Moreover, by recording the reference values for ventilators, the patient's respiratory status can be accurately understood. This is useful for preventing complications and detecting their worsening. Regarding the scale, it can measure pupil size, which is a factor in determining brain death or death diagnosis. Since the effectiveness of treatment and changes in treatment strategies must be considered based on pupil diameter, this is also useful in this situation. The writing instrument 1 described above is merely one example of a writing instrument according to the present invention, and its configuration can be modified as appropriate. For example, while the example described above shows the main body 11 formed from resin, the main body 11 can also be formed from biodegradable materials (e.g., plant-derived materials such as wood or paper). Furthermore, while the example described above applies to a multi-color ballpoint pen with a mechanical pencil function, it can also be applied to various other writing instruments such as mechanical pencils, felt-tip pens, fountain pens, and ballpoint pens.
