Description
This invention relates to a panel on which plants are planted, and more particularly to a wall greening panel that is directly attached to the wall surface of a building to provide greening to the wall surface. Conventionally, wall greening has been carried out by planting plants on the walls of buildings such as office buildings and houses. For wall greening, a sheet-like or panel-like planting base on which plants are planted is used. For example, a greening surface forming member has been proposed (see, for example, Patent Document 1). This member comprises a support, a water-permeable support layer fixed to the surface of the support, a water-retaining layer that receives water from the support layer and guides it to the root-growing area on the surface, and a surface layer that covers the surface side of the water-retaining layer and has partitioned areas formed by stitching. The surface layer also includes slits that lead to the root-growing area. According to the greening surface forming member of Patent Document 1, greening can be carried out by directly attaching it to the wall surface. This invention relates to a wall greening panel and a wall greening structure for greening walls. A wall greening panel comprises a support plate and a planting base. The support plate is a plate-like member that forms the framework of the wall greening panel. It can be made from a lightweight plate material with sufficient rigidity to prevent easy bending, such as metal, resin, gypsum, wood, or a composite thereof. The thickness of the support plate is not particularly limited and can be set appropriately according to the properties of the material; however, it is preferable to have a thickness that is sufficient to maintain rigidity without being excessively thick. The back of the support plate can be equipped with fixing means for securing the wall greening panel to the wall. The fixing means is not particularly limited as long as it can secure the back of the support plate to the wall. For example, a bracket can be used, interposed between the support plate and the wall, with one end fixed to the back of the support plate and the other end fixed to the wall. The planting base is a component in a wall greening panel where plants are planted and grown. The planting base is placed on the surface of the support plate and consists of an insulating layer, a root-resistant layer, a water-retaining layer, and a surface layer. The insulating layer is the layer that forms the surface of the planting base in contact with the surface of the support plate, and is a sheet-like or plate-like component. This insulates against heat transmitted from the wall surface through the support plate, preventing it from being transferred to the interior. While known insulating materials such as fibrous or foamed plastic materials can be used for the insulating layer, the use of non-woven fabric insulating material is particularly preferable because it enhances functionality by adding buffering and water-retaining properties to the insulating effect. The water-retaining layer is a sheet- or plate-like component placed between the insulation layer and the water-retaining layer, which retains moisture absorbed by plants planted in the planting pockets (described in detail later), allowing the plants to establish roots. The water-retaining layer can be made of a material with excellent water absorption and retention properties; for example, a sheet-like material made from porous materials such as nonwoven fabric, felt, urethane, or sponge can be used. The thickness of the water-retaining layer is not particularly limited and can be appropriately set according to the water retention properties of the constituent materials and the water absorption capacity of the planted pla
