Description
This invention relates to a tape-shaped fluid leak detection tape for detecting fluid leaks, and more particularly to a fluid leak detection tape that can detect fluid leaks stably and with high accuracy. In the field of maintenance for equipment and products that use oils such as machine oil, lubricating oil, or insulating oil, rapid and accurate detection of oil leaks (oil leak detection) is considered crucial for ensuring safety. The areas covered include a wide range of applications such as processing machines, ships, automobiles, industrial machinery, and electrical equipment. Generally, there are various methods for detecting fluid leaks, depending on the equipment shape and operating environment, after implementing sealing measures. For example, a known method involves installing sensors at locations where oil leaks may occur and measuring changes in capacitance or impedance before and after the leak (Non-Patent Literature 1). However, when using sensors that require a power supply, detection is generally unreliable because they cannot detect small amounts of oil leaks and only detect leaks exceeding a certain amount. Furthermore, a method is known in which a grease or spray-type oil reagent is applied to areas where oil leaks may occur, and the color change is observed (Non-Patent Documents 2 and 3). However, typically, the grease or spray washes away over time and is affected by the surrounding environment, making it unsuitable for long-term use. Therefore, a fluid leak detection tape has been developed that can detect the occurrence of fluid leaks by simply wrapping the area around where oil leaks may occur with tape. Conventional fluid leak detection tapes include, for example, a method in which an adhesive-sealed oil-reactive material is attached to a location where oil leaks are likely to occur, and the resulting color reaction is observed (Non-Patent Literature 4). Furthermore, regarding technologies related to conventional fluid leak detection tapes, there is a known technology concerning grease-type oil reagents, which involves dissolving a single or mixture of lipophilic surfactants such as sorbitan monooleate and a single or mixture of organic amines such as diethanolamine in water, adding an oil-soluble dye and a white pigment such as titanium dioxide, and then adding a pigment having a different color from the oil-soluble dye, such as chromium oxide or red iron oxide, and homogenizing these (Patent Document 1). Furthermore, as an example of a conventional fluid leak detection tape, there is a known oil leak detection material (Patent Document 2) characterized by being made of a synthetic resin nonwoven fabric with a thickness of 200 μm or more, having both water permeability and oil-retaining properties, a colored layer in which the nonwoven fabric is colored, and a white layer at least 150 μm thick laminated on one side of the colored layer, in which white powder with a refractive index of at least 1.5 is dispersed in a transparent resin, so that the color of the colored layer can be seen through, while the white layer is opaque when the colored layer is wet with water and transparent when the colored layer is wet with oil. Furthermore, for example, a conventional fluid leak detection tape is known to consist of a breathable film, a darkly colored layer provided on the breathable film, and a white layer provided on the colored layer that becomes transparent when wet and opaque when dry, wherein the colored layer uses an adhesive such as cellulose resin (Patent Document 3).
