Abstract

[Problem] To provide a method for tracking the inventory of aerosolizable materials for a non-flammable aerosol supply system. [Solution] A method for tracking the inventory of aerosolizable materials for a non-flammable aerosol supply system includes the steps of: receiving input indicating a change in the user's inventory of aerosolizable materials; and updating a stored indication of the inventory of aerosolizable materials based on the input indicating the change. Description

[0001] This disclosure relates to the field of aerosol supply systems. More specifically, and not exclusively, this disclosure relates to managing the supply (stockpile) of aerosolizable materials for non-flammable aerosol supply systems. [0002] A "non-flammable" aerosol supply system is an aerosol supply system in which the aerosol-generating materials constituting the aerosol supply system (or its components) are not burned or incinerated in order to facilitate the delivery of at least one substance to the user. [0003] The non-flammable aerosol supply system may be an e-cigarette, also known as a vaping device or an electronic nicotine delivery system (END), but it should be noted that the presence of nicotine in the aerosol-generating material is not a requirement. [0004] The non-combustible aerosol supply system may also be an aerosol-generating material heating system, also known as a non-combustion heating system. An example of such a system is a cigarette heating system. [0005] The non-flammable aerosol supply system may be a hybrid system that generates an aerosol using a combination of aerosol-generating materials, one or more of which may be heated. Each of the aerosol-generating materials may be, for example, in the form of a solid, liquid, or gel, and may or may not contain nicotine. The hybrid system may include a liquid or gel aerosol-generating material and a solid aerosol-generating material. The solid aerosol-generating material may include, for example, tobacco or a non-tobacco product. [0006] Typically, a non-flammable aerosol supply system may include a non-flammable aerosol supply device and consumables for use with the non-flammable aerosol supply device. [0007] A non-flammable aerosol supply system, for example, a non-flammable aerosol supply device, may include a power source and a controller. The power source may be, for example, an electrical power source or a heat source. The heat source includes a carbon substrate capable of supplying energy in the form of heat to an aerosolizable material or heat transfer material adjacent to the heat source. [0008] The non-flammable aerosol supply system may include a consumable receiving area, an aerosol generator, an aerosol generating area, a housing, a mouthpiece, a filter, and/or an aerosol modifier. [0009] Consumables for use in a non-flammable aerosol supply device may include aerosol generating material, aerosol generating material storage area, aerosol generating material transfer component, aerosol generator, aerosol generating area, housing, wrapper, filter, mouthpiece, and/or aerosol modifier. [0010] Known approaches are described in International Publication No. 2014199233, International Publication No. 2015128665, U.S. Patent Application Publication No. 2017027229, International Publication No. 2015138589, International Publication No. 2019060305, U.S. Patent Application Publication No. 20140246035, International Publication No. 2014058678, International Publication No. 2012027350, European Patent Application Publication No. 3210481, International Publication No. 2020229045, U.S. Patent No. 9877505, and U.S. Patent No. 9888725. [0011] In a first aspect, a method is provided for tracking an inventory of aerosolizable materials for a non-flammable aerosol supply system, comprising the steps of: receiving an input indicating a change in a user's aerosolizable materials inventory; and updating a stored indication of the aerosolizable materials inventory based on the input indicating the change. [0012] In a second aspect, a user device is provided comprising a processor configured to receive input indicating a change in the user's inventory of aerosolizable materials, and to update stored instructions for the inventory of aerosolizable materials based on the input indicating the change. [0013] In a third aspect, a computer-readable medium containing instructions is provided, wherein, when the instructions are executed by a processing circuit of a computing device, the computing device causes the computing device to: receive an input indicating a change in the user's inventory of aerosolizable materials; and update the stored instructions for the inventory of aerosolizable materials based on the input indicating the change. [0014] Next, embodiments and examples of the approach of the present invention will be described merely as examples, with reference to the accompanying drawings.
