Description
This invention relates to a mat suitable for use as a seat cushion in a vehicle, etc. For example, various cushions and mats have been proposed to be placed on the seat surface to improve seating comfort or prevent soiling of vehicle seats (see, for example, Patent Documents 1 to 3). The vehicle seat cushion described in Patent Document 1 is made of a single-density closed-cell foam, such as EVA foam. This cushion is made of a material that has sufficient flexibility to deform under the user's weight and sufficient elasticity to return to its original state when the weight is removed. Therefore, it has the effect of distributing pressure on the buttocks when seated. However, the vehicle seat cushion described in Patent Document 1 requires a certain thickness to achieve the aforementioned effect. Therefore, when used on the seat surface, it is convenient for shorter individuals, but often raises the driver's eye level too high. This can lead to problems such as the need to adjust the seat height, or difficulty of use in vehicles without seat height adjustment. On the other hand, the vehicle seat cushions described in Patent Documents 2 and 3 comprise a seat portion on which the driver or other passenger sits, and a reinforcing member provided around the outer circumference of this seat portion. In the vehicle seat cushions described in Patent Documents 2 and 3, by making the seat portion relatively thin, it becomes possible to eliminate the need for adjustments such as seat height. Furthermore, even with a relatively thin seat portion, the presence of a reinforcing member makes it less likely for it to unintentionally curl up, thus preventing seat soiling and other issues. Special table 2015-504771 publicationJapanese Utility Model Publication No. 63-112853Japanese Utility Model Publication No. 63-124849 This is a perspective view of a seat cushion (mat) showing a first embodiment of the present invention.Figure 1 is a cross-sectional view of the outer periphery of the seat cushion.Figure 1 is a perspective view showing the insertion of a core material into the main body of the mat, or the removal of a core material from the main body of the mat.Figure 3 is a perspective view showing the main body of the mat and the core material after it has been removed, in a compact state. This is a plan view showing a seat cushion according to a second embodiment of the present invention. The embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the drawings. While the mat of the present invention can be suitably used as a seat cushion for vehicles such as automobiles, its uses are not particularly limited. For example, it can be used as a bath mat, a pet seat (liner), a bed seat, a disaster prevention mat or seat, a cushion for various chairs, a wheelchair cushion, a cushion for stadium seats, a stretcher, or a yoga mat. The embodiments described below will use an example of a vehicle seat cushion 10. Figure 1 is a perspective view of a seat cushion (mat) 10 showing a first embodiment of the present invention. In Figure 1, the front surface 310 is visible, while the back surface 320 (see Figure 2), which is the reverse side of the front surface 310, is hidden. Also, in Figure 1, a portion of the mat body 3, which will be described in more detail later, is cut out. Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view of the outer periphery of the seat cushion 10 shown in Figure 1. As shown in Figures 1 and 2, the seat cushion 10 of this embodiment has a mat body 3 and a core material 5. The mat body 3 is a flat, washable fabric, and in this embodiment, its external shape in plan view is a rectangular shape with rounded corners. The mat body 3 is a bag-like structure with a front surface 310 and a back surface 320. The back surface 320 is placed on the vehicle seat, and the user sits on the front surface 310. An opening 3A (see Figure 3) is formed at the joint between the front surface material 31 (which constitutes the front surface 310) and the back surface material 32 (which constitutes the back surface 320), and a zipper 33 is provided to open and close this opening 3A. The rug body 3 of this embodiment is constructed with different materials for its front surface 310 and back surface 320. Specifically, the front surface material 31 constituting the front surface 310 is made of microfiber material, taking into consideration water absorption, heat retention, and cushioning properties. The back surface material 32 constituting the back surface 320 is made of polyester cushion mesh, similar to that used in laundry nets, taking into consideration cushioning and breathability. The material of the rug body 3 is not particularly limited as long as it is washable; it may be synthetic leather, or part of it may be made of polyethylene or polyvinyl chloride. The core material 5 maintains the external shape of the mat body 3 and is detachable from the mat body 3. In this embodiment, the core material 5 is made of a ring le
