Description
This invention relates to an oral composition. When functional ingredients such as disinfectants are incorporated into oral care compositions, it is essential that users fully experience their effects for sustained use and effective efficacy. For example, Patent Document 1 describes an oral care composition containing glycerophosphate or its salt, cetylpyridinium chloride, and benzethonium chloride, which exhibits an inhibitory effect on oral biofilm due to the glycerophosphates, and provides users with a strong sense of coating due to the inclusion of cetylpyridinium chloride and benzethonium chloride. Furthermore, Patent Document 2 describes a liquid oral care composition containing sodium chondroitin sulfate, dextranase, and polyoxyethylene alkyl ether, which exhibits a plaque formation inhibitory effect due to the inclusion of dextranase, provides users with a strong sense of coating due to the inclusion of dextranase, and improves shelf life due to the inclusion of polyoxyethylene alkyl ether. Japanese Patent Publication No. 2013-129619Japanese Patent Publication No. 2009-46449 [(A): Ethylhexyl compound] Component (A) is an ethylhexyl compound, and is either 2-ethylhexyl palmitate, 2-ethylhexyl stearate, or a combination thereof. By including component (A), together with component (B), the coating sensation on the tooth surface and gums can be enhanced, and a moisturizing sensation can be provided, resulting in a good user experience. 2-ethylhexyl palmitate is represented by the following chemical formula and is an ester of palmitic acid and 2-ethylhexyl alcohol (molecular weight 368.64). 2-ethylhexyl stearate is represented by the following chemical formula and is an ester of stearic acid and 2-ethylhexyl alcohol (molecular weight 396.69). (A) When component contains 2-ethylhexyl stearate, its content is preferably 0.000008% by mass or more, more preferably 0.00008% by mass or more, even more preferably 0.008% by mass or more, and even more preferably 0.02% by mass or more, based on the total oral composition (100% by mass). This can further enhance the coating sensation on the tooth surface and gums, and furthermore, it can efficiently provide and sustain a feeling of moisture. The upper limit is preferably 8.0% by mass or less, more preferably 4.0% by mass or less, even more preferably 1.0% by mass or less, and even more preferably 0.8% by mass or less. This allows for obtaining effects commensurate with the content. Therefore, the content of 2-ethylhexyl stearate is preferably 0.000008 to 8.0% by mass, more preferably 0.00008 to 4.0% by mass, even more preferably 0.008 to 1.0% by mass, and even more preferably 0.02 to 0.8% by mass. (A) When component contains 2-ethylhexyl palmitate, its content is preferably 0.000004% by mass or more, more preferably 0.00004% by mass or more, even more preferably 0.004% by mass or more, and even more preferably 0.01% by mass or more, based on the total oral composition (100% by mass). This enhances the coating sensation on the tooth surface and gums, and also efficiently provides and sustains a moisturizing sensation, resulting in a good user experience. The upper limit is preferably 4.0% by mass or less, more preferably 2.0% by mass or less, even more preferably 1.0% by mass or less, and even more preferably 0.4% by mass or less. This allows for obtaining effects commensurate with the content. Therefore, the content of 2-ethylhexyl palmitate is preferably 0.000004 to 4.0% by mass, more preferably 0.00004 to 2.0% by mass, even more preferably 0.004 to 1.0% by mass, and even more preferably 0.01 to 0.4% by mass. The content of component (A) is preferably 0.000004% by mass or more, more preferably 0.00004% by mass or more, and even more preferably 0.004% by mass or more, based on the total oral composition (100% by mass). The upper limit is preferably 12.0% by mass or less, more preferably 6.0% by mass or less, and even more preferably 2.0% by mass or less. Therefore, the content of component (A) is preferably 0.000004 to 12.0% by mass, more preferably 0.00004 to 6.0% by mass, and even more preferably 0.004 to 2.0% by mass. [(B): Surfactants] Component (B) is a surfactant. By including component (B), a coating sensation can be provided to the tooth surface and gums, and together with component (A), a moisturizing sensation can be provided. Component (B) is usually one or a combination of two or more selected from the group consisting of (B-1) anionic surfactants, (B-2) nonionic surfactants, and (B-3) amphoteric surfactants. When the composition is a mouthwash, component (B) preferably contains at least component (B-2), and more preferably is component (B-2). [(B-1) Anionic surfactants] Examples of anionic surfactants include alkyl sulfates, acyl amino acid salts, acyl taurine salts, α-olefin sulfonates, hydrogenated coconut fatty acid monoglyceride monosulfates, and lauryl sulfoacetate. The alkyl and acyl groups may be linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated, an
