Description
This invention relates to a press working apparatus for forming parts. The ratchets that make up the reclining mechanism for vehicle seats are often manufactured by press forming. A ratchet is a disc-shaped component with internal teeth on the inner surface of an annular section located on the outer circumference. In addition to the internal teeth, it also has a central through-hole and multiple protrusions and indentations. In reclining mechanism components, the base plate that combines with the ratchet is also often formed by press forming. The base plate also has a central through-hole and multiple protrusions and indentations. When manufacturing reclining mechanism components such as ratchets and base plates using press forming, multiple molds are required to create various parts, including the outer shape, the central through-hole, and the multiple protrusions and indentations. As a device for press working using multiple molds, a progressive die press is known that transports workpieces such as metal sheets in stages, performing press working individually at each stage of transport. Furthermore, unlike progressive die presses, there are also known one-shot type presses that use multiple molds mounted on a single press to form multiple different parts in a single pressing motion. As a type of single-shot press device, a system has been proposed in which the molding operations of each part using multiple molds are performed at different timings within a single stroke of the press (for example, Patent Document 1). The press working apparatus 10 of this embodiment will be described below with reference to the drawings. As shown in Figure 1, the press working apparatus 10 comprises a lower block 11 installed on the floor and an upper block 12 located above the lower block 11. The lower block 11 has a base portion 20, and the upper block 12 has a base portion 40. Four guide shafts 13 extending in the vertical direction are provided near the four corners of the base portion 20, and each guide shaft 13 is inserted through a guide hole 14 (see Figure 3) formed in the base portion 40. The upper block 12 is movable in the vertical direction along the guide shafts 13. A press mechanism 15 is provided on the upper part of the upper block 12. The press mechanism 15 includes a movable part 15a that can move vertically, and this movable part 15a is connected to the upper surface of the base part 40. A drive source (not shown) moves the movable part 15a of the press mechanism 15 vertically, causing the upper block 12 to move vertically in conjunction. The operation of the movable part 15a of the press mechanism 15 is controlled by the control unit 70. The control unit 70 provides overall control of the press working apparatus 10 and includes a processor and memory (storage means). The press operation described later is executed according to the program stored in the memory. In other words, the press working method of this embodiment is performed under the control of the control unit 70. The lower block 11 and the upper block 12 are each supported by multiple parts that are movable vertically relative to the base portion 20 and base portion 40. The movement of these multiple parts presses the metal plate 16 between the base
