Description

This invention relates to a flat, open display case with an open top, capable of displaying refrigerated or frozen goods while keeping them cool. Patent Document 1 describes an example of this type of flat, open display case. The display case described in Patent Document 1 is formed in a box shape with an open top (open top surface), and comprises a product storage section covered by an air curtain of cold air, and shelves supported by pillars at the upper position of the product storage section. Japanese Patent Publication No. 2004-81418 This is a schematic perspective view of a flat open showcase according to the first embodiment. This is a schematic cross-sectional view of a flat open showcase according to the first embodiment. This figure shows a modified example of the flat open showcase according to the first embodiment. This is a schematic perspective view of a flat open showcase according to the second embodiment. This is a schematic cross-sectional view of a flat open showcase according to the second embodiment. This is a top view of the main parts of a flat open showcase according to the second embodiment, mainly showing the display shelves and air guides. The results of the airflow analysis in a flat open showcase according to the second embodiment are shown, where (a) is the analysis result when no air guide is provided, and (b) is the analysis result when an air guide is provided. This figure shows a modified example of the flat open showcase according to the second embodiment. This figure schematically shows a flat open showcase and a modified example thereof according to the second embodiment. The embodiments of the present invention will be described below with reference to the attached drawings. The flat-type open showcase according to this embodiment is primarily installed inside retail stores such as convenience stores and supermarkets. [First Embodiment] Figures 1 and 2 show a flat open showcase 1 according to the first embodiment. Figure 1 is a schematic perspective view of the flat open showcase 1 according to the first embodiment, and Figure 2 is a cross-sectional view (a cross-sectional view perpendicular to the longitudinal direction) of the flat open showcase 1 according to the first embodiment. Referring to Figures 1 and 2, the flat-type open showcase 1 has a case body 2 with an open top. The case body 2 is formed in a rectangular box shape and has two longitudinal sides (first longitudinal side 2a, second longitudinal side 2b) and two transverse sides. The interior of the case body 2 constitutes a storage compartment 3 where goods are displayed and stored. Furthermore, transparent windbreaks 4 (in this case, four windbreaks 4) made of acrylic or the like, with a predetermined height, are attached to the top of the case body 2, surrounding the storage compartment 3. Above the case body 2, a display shelf 5 is provided on which items, including merchandise, can be displayed. That is, the flat-type open showcase 1 has a display shelf 5 located above the case body 2. The display shelf 5 is rectangular in shape when viewed from above. The display shelf 5 is supported by a pair of pillars 6 spaced apart in the longitudinal direction of the case body 2, and is located approximately above the center in the short direction of the case body 2. While not particularly limited, in this embodiment, the longitudinal length of the display shelf 5 is approximately equal to the longitudinal length of the case body 2, and the short length of the display shelf 5 is smaller (shorter) than the short length of the case body 2. The case body 2 contains a deck pan 31, a bottom duct 32, an intake duct 33, and an exhaust duct 34. The deck pan 31 is installed in the lower part of the case body 2. The upper surface of the deck pan 31 forms the inner bottom surface of the storage chamber 3. The bottom duct 32 is located on the underside of the deck pan 31. A blower 41 and a cooler 42 are arranged in the bottom duct 32. The suction duct 33 is provided along the first longitudinal inner surface 2c, which corresponds to the first longitudinal inner surface 2a, of the two longitudinal inner surfaces (first longitudinal inner surface 2c and second longitudinal inner surface 2d) of the case body 2. The suction duct 33 has a suction port 33a at its upper end and its lower end communicates with one end of the bottom duct 32. The discharge duct 34 is provided along the second longitudinal inner surface 2d, which corresponds to the second longitudinal inner surface 2b, of the two longitudinal inner surfaces (first longitudinal inner surface 2c and second longitudinal inner surface 2d) of the case body 2. The discharge duct 34 has an outlet 34a at its upper end, facing the intake port 33a, and its lower end communicates with the other end of the bottom duct 32. In the flat-type open showcase 1, when the blower 41 and cooler 42 are driven, air from inside the case body 2 is drawn in through the intake port 33a into the intake du
