Description
This invention relates to a liquid composition, such as a cosmetic, comprising powder and water, which is shaken (redispersed) before use. Liquid formulations containing powder, where the powder components settle and separate into layers upon standing, are widely used in cosmetics and other applications. Such cosmetics offer a combination of the feel provided by the liquid phase components and the smooth, dry texture provided by the powder. Such liquid compositions require good redispersibility of the powder components, as they are used after uniformly redispersing the powder components by shaking. Various studies have been conducted to improve the redispersibility of powder components in liquid compositions containing powder. For example, when using silica as the powder, combining it with materials that assist in powder dispersion has been considered to improve dispersibility. Polar oils have often been used as materials to aid in such dispersion, and while the types of oils and application methods have been investigated, simply changing from polar oil to non-polar oil has not yielded significant improvements in redispersibility. This was particularly difficult in compositions with high alcohol content. Furthermore, the use of surfactants and emulsion particles as materials to aid dispersion is also being considered. For example, Patent Document 1 discloses a cosmetic composition combining silica with a polyether-modified silicone surfactant having an HLB of 5 to 10. However, according to the inventors' research, a composition that allows for easier and more uniform redispersion is desired. Furthermore, a slower powder sedimentation rate when the dispersed material is left to stand is also desired. International Publication No. 2011/111828 Detailed description of the invention This invention aims to provide a liquid composition that exhibits excellent redispersibility and a slow powder sedimentation rate. The present invention provides the following: [1] (A) Powder, (B) Non-polar silicone oil, (C) Silicone-based surfactants, A liquid composition comprising (D) a lower alcohol and (E) water. [2] The composition according to [1], wherein component (A) is silica. [3] The composition according to [1] or [2], wherein component (B) is selected from the group consisting of dimethylpolysiloxane, methylphenylpolysiloxane, caprylyl methicone, diphenylsiloxyphenyl trimethicone, methylhydrogenpolysiloxane, octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane, decamethylcyclopentasiloxane, and dodecamethylcyclohexasiloxane. [4] The composition according to any one of [1] to [3], wherein the HLB of component (C) is 1.0 to 4.8. [5] The composition according to any one of [1] to [4], wherein component (C) is a polyether-modified silicone surfactant.
