KR-102961503-B1 - Acoustic system for head protective equipment providing amplified ambient sound and communication audio
Abstract
The present invention relates to an acoustic system mounted on a head protector, and more specifically, to an acoustic system for a head protector that enables effective perception of external ambient sounds and communication sounds even while the protector is being worn. The acoustic system for a head protector according to the present invention comprises: an external sound collection unit that collects external ambient sounds of the head protector; an ambient sound processing unit that removes noise components from the ambient sounds collected from the external sound collection unit and amplifies specific acoustic components; a communication acoustic input unit that receives communication acoustic signals from an external communication device; a protector status recognition unit that recognizes status information related to the type or wearing state of the head protector and outputs a status signal or control parameter; and an acoustic control unit that controls the output of the ambient sounds and the communication sounds selectively or in combination. The present invention provides an acoustic system for a head protector, comprising an output unit that outputs sound controlled by the acoustic control unit into the head protector, wherein the acoustic control unit sets the processing parameters of the environmental sound processing unit differently according to the type or wearing state of the head protector based on the state signal or control parameters provided by the head protector state recognition unit.

Description
Acoustic system for head protective equipment providing amplified ambient sound and communication audio The present invention relates to head protection equipment, and more specifically, to an acoustic system for head protection equipment that is mounted on various head protection equipment worn on the head, such as helmets, gas masks, bulletproof helmets, fireproof helmets, and winter helmets, and is capable of amplifying and noise-removing external ambient sounds while simultaneously providing communication sounds received from a radio, smartphone, or external communication device. In industrial sites, military and police operational environments, and fire and disaster sites, head protection equipment such as helmets, gas masks, bulletproof helmets, and fireproof helmets is mandatory to ensure the safety of workers. However, due to their structural characteristics, these head protectors block or distort external sounds, which presents a problem in that it is difficult for the wearer to accurately perceive ambient sounds. In particular, although warning sounds, approach sounds, and voice instructions from others are factors directly related to safety, wearing protective gear causes delays or makes recognition impossible, which is a problem. To address this, simple sound amplification devices or radio communication devices using microphones and speakers have been proposed, but these conventional technologies have the following limitations. It fails to consider the type of protective equipment, wearing conditions, and sound insulation characteristics; the mixing of external environmental sounds and communication sounds causes listening fatigue; and it lacks the safety-centered control concepts required in industrial, military, and special environments. Therefore, a new acoustic system is required that is suitable for the wearing environment of head protection while simultaneously satisfying external environment perception and long-distance communication. Furthermore, recently, there has been an increasing number of cases in medical and care environments requiring both external situational awareness and communication convenience while wearing head protection.
