Description
A Method of Vegetative Propagation of Selaginella Tamarissina This specification relates to a method of vegetative propagation of *Rock Hand*. Vegetative propagation is a type of asexual reproduction in which a part of a vegetative organ, such as leaves, stems, or roots, is separated from the parent plant to form an independent new individual. It is a method that allows for obtaining a large number of individuals with identical traits in a short period of time. Cutting, which is one of these vegetative propagation methods, is a method of propagation in which a part of a plant is cut and inserted into sand or soil to create a new individual, and it is most widely used for propagating superior lines. Many studies have been conducted to increase the rooting rate of cuttings, and it is known that the rooting rate is closely related to the timing of cutting collection, the age of the mother plant, the part from which the cutting is collected, and the soil used for cutting. However, since there has been no research on the cuttings of *Sedum sarmentosum*, research and development on this is required. Figure 1 is a photograph showing a cutting taken from a rock snail. Figure 2 is a photograph showing a cutting of a rock sedum rooted in horticultural soil. Figure 3 is a photograph showing a rooted rock snail cutting. Figure 4 is a photograph showing a cutting of a rock snail with a new shoot formed. Figure 5 is a photograph showing the length growth of multiple shoots formed after cuttings over time. The present invention will be described in detail below. In this specification, *Selaginella tamariscina * is an evergreen annual fern of the family Selaginellaceae, also known as *Gwonbaek*. It has many fibrous roots that intertwine to form a pseudostem, and its leaves curl up like a ball when dry and unfold when moist. This *Selaginella tamariscina* is distributed throughout Korea, including Jeju Island, and is known to be effective for hemostasis, bruises, abdominal pain, etc. In one aspect, the present invention provides a method for vegetative propagation of Selaginella tamariscina, comprising the step of planting cuttings taken from Selaginella tamariscina in potting soil. In this specification, cutting refers to a method of vegetative propagation in which a part of a plant’s vegetative organ, such as a branch, root, or leaf, is separated from the parent plant and inserted into soil or sand to root and develop into an independent plant. In one embodiment, the potting soil may include horticultural potting soil. The horticultural potting soil may include coco peat, peat moss, vermiculite, and zeolite. In one embodiment, the pH of the horticultural potting soil may be 4 to 8, preferably 5 to 7. In one embodiment, the electrical conductivity (EC) of the horticultural potting soil may be 1.2 dS/m or less, and specifically, may be 0.8 to 1.2 dS/m. In one embodiment, the potting soil may additionally include one or more additional components selected from the group consisting of vermiculite, perlite, and weathered granite soil in addition to horticultural potting soil. In one embodiment, the horticultural potting soil may be included in an amount of 50 to 100 weight% based on the total weight of the potting soil. If the horticultural potting soil is included in an amount of less than 50 weight%, the rate of multiple shoot formation of the cuttings decreases. Specifically, the horticultural potting soil comprises, based on the total weight of the potting soil, 50 wt% or more, 51 wt% or more, 52 wt% or more, 53 wt% or more, 54 wt% or more, 55 wt% or more, 56 wt% or more, 57 wt% or more, 58 wt% or more, 59 wt% or more, 60 wt% or more, 61 wt% or more, 62 wt% or more, 63 wt% or more, 64 wt% or more, 65 wt% or more, 66 wt% or more, 67 wt% or more, 68 wt% or more, 69 wt% or more, or 70 wt% or more, while being 100 wt% or less, 99 wt% or less, 98 wt% or less, 97 wt% or less, 96 wt% or less, 95 wt% or less, 94 wt% or less, 93 wt% or less, 92 wt% or less, 91 wt% or less, 90 wt% or less, or 89 wt%. It may be included in an amount of 88% or less by weight, 87% or less by weight, 86% or less by weight, 85% or less by weight, 84% or less by weight, 83% or less by weight, 82% or less by weight, 81% or less by weight, or 80% or less. In one embodiment, the weight ratio of the horticultural soil and the additional component may be 1:0.1 to 2, preferably 1:0.5 to 1.5, and more preferably 1:1. If the weight ratio of the horticultural soil and the additional component falls outside the above range, the rate of multiple shoot formation may decrease. In one embodiment, the cutting may be taken from a rock spore, and specifically, the stem, leaf, or root of the rock spore may be cut to a size of 4 to 6 cm. In one embodiment, the cutting may be planted horizontally in the potting soil. In one aspect, a method for vegetative propagation of *Sargassum* according to one embodiment of the present invention may further include the step of watering
