Description

Digital Care Platform for Cognition Power Improvement The present invention is a result of the support provided by the Busan Institute of Science and Technology Innovation (BISTEP) for the Busan Metropolitan City University Innovation Research Complex Development Project (IURP2301), and relates to a digital care platform for improving cognitive ability. More specifically, it relates to a digital care platform for overcoming dementia by conducting non-face-to-face cognitive ability diagnostic tests through the analysis of speech acts of the elderly based on artificial intelligence, and by assisting the elderly in recalling past memories through the creation of digital autobiographies. As the aging society continues, the number of patients suffering from brain diseases such as dementia and cognitive decline is increasing. In particular, given that there are limitations to the response to treatment once dementia has progressed, accurately detecting and predicting high-risk groups (potential dementia patients) can help prevent progression to dementia or facilitate continuous management. Existing cognitive intelligence tests designed to predict dementia have been used as screening tools prior to expensive imaging tests such as PET and fMRI to diagnose dementia and other diseases presenting with symptoms of cognitive impairment. In particular, scale-based screening tools such as the MMSE-K are currently being actively used to screen for dementia risk groups. Dementia (or mild cognitive impairment) testing generally proceeds in the order of screening, diagnostic, and differential diagnosis. While screening is conducted at local dementia care centers and public health centers, it presents issues regarding validity and efficiency due to the requirement of direct visits by test subjects and the fact that the tests are performed manually. Specifically, the validity of the test is reduced because the likelihood of a person visiting the testing center in person being a dementia patient is very low, and when a person performs the test manually, it takes tens of minutes to test one person, resulting in significant losses in terms of time and cost. In addition, conventional brain imaging diagnostics used for dementia diagnosis had the problem of being difficult to use for the purpose of early diagnosis because, despite being expensive precision equipment, they could only confirm conditions when brain disease or brain atrophy had significantly progressed. In addition, dementia patients are typically elderly, illiterate, have low educational attainment, and often have difficulty recognizing text, which made testing using questionnaires difficult and posed a problem in that it required a significant amount of time and manpower. A speech act refers to the speaker's intention within an utterance, and speech act analysis refers to determining the speech act for an utterance. Recently, the use of conversational systems that understand user utterances and generate corresponding feedback has been increasing, and speech act analysis is an essential element for identifying user intentions in such systems. Therefore, it is necessary to develop technologies, such as platforms or solutions, that can analyze the cognitive abilities of the elderly remotely through the analysis of the aforementioned speech acts.
