Abstract

The present invention relates to an armrest for a vehicle, and more specifically, to an armrest for a vehicle that is installed on the door trim of a vehicle to support a user's arm, and is capable of opening and closing vertically according to the operation of a lift unit, and can improve user convenience and seating comfort through the expansion or contraction of an air cell provided inside. The armrest for a vehicle according to the present invention comprises a second cover fixed to the vehicle, a first cover movably coupled to the second cover, a lift unit that controls the opening and closing of the first cover, and an air cell disposed between the first cover and the second cover that expands or contracts by the supply or exhaust of a fluid. Accordingly, the armrest according to the present invention is structurally stable even when installed in a narrow space such as the door trim of a vehicle, allows for easy adjustment of the user's arm support height, and can improve ride comfort and comfort through the adjustment of the elasticity of the air cell.

Description

Armrest The present invention relates to an armrest provided in a vehicle door trim, and more specifically, to an armrest equipped with air cells to implement a massage function. Vehicle door trims typically finish the internal structure of the door, accommodate functional components such as switches and handles, and feature an armrest to support the passenger's arm. Conventional door trim armrests were mostly made of an integrated structure fixed to the vehicle body. In other words, the armrest was either integrally molded as part of the door trim or had a cushioning section composed of a foam pad and skin attached in a fixed state, maintaining a structure that always had the same height and shape. While these fixed armrests have the advantage of a simple structure and ease of manufacturing, there was a problem in that they caused fatigue or discomfort due to continuous pressure when a user's arm rested on the armrest for a long time. In particular, even though blood flow could be restricted or numbness in the arms could occur during long-distance driving, existing armrests provided only simple fixed cushions and did not have the function to actively relieve user fatigue. Meanwhile, although there are cases where air-cell massage functions using air have been applied to the seat backs or cushions, this is limited to the seat structure, and there have been no instances of air cells being applied to the door trim armrests. Therefore, in the prior art, no armrest has been proposed that is structured to be installed on a door trim and provides a massage function by being equipped with an air cell to press or relax the arm according to expansion and contraction. In addition, since the door trim armrest is a component linked to the opening and closing of the vehicle, a stable sealing structure and smooth opening and closing operation must be ensured simultaneously; however, this was also difficult to achieve with existing fixed structures. Therefore, there is a need for an armrest installed on the door trim that can solve the aforementioned problems.
