Abstract

The present invention relates to a TPLO (tibial plateau leveling osteotomy) saw blade guide comprising: a lower plate and an upper plate provided to be joined together, wherein a plurality of horizontal adjustment pin holes, a plurality of fixing pin holes, and a curved guide surface for guiding the saw blade are formed; a plurality of horizontal adjustment pins that penetrate the horizontal adjustment pin holes and maintain the guide surface in a state where it is positioned perpendicular to the horizontal plane; and a fixing pin that penetrates the fixing pin holes and fixes the lower plate and the upper plate to the bone. The present invention has the effect of improving the accuracy of the osteotomy and reducing damage to the medial cortex when performing tibial plateau leveling osteotomy.

Description

TPLO saw guide The present invention relates to a tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) saw blade guide. More specifically, the present invention relates to a TPLO saw blade guide that enables osteotomy to be performed more easily and accurately during TPLO. A rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament is one of the most common orthopedic conditions in dogs. When the anterior cruciate ligament is partially damaged or completely torn, the tibia moves forward, causing instability and resulting in limping and discomfort. Various surgical techniques are known to treat this condition, and tibial plateau leveling osteotomy (TPLO) is one of the most widely performed surgeries. However, in tibial plateau flattening osteotomy, performing the tibial osteotomy can be particularly difficult for less experienced surgeons and can lead to complications such as misalignment, unintended cortical damage, inaccurate flattening, tibial tuberosity fracture, and implant failure. Therefore, accurate osteotomy plays a crucial role in increasing the success rate of TPLO and reducing the risk of complications. Recently, various saw blade guides have been developed to facilitate the positioning of osteotomies in the sagittal plane. Radial saw guides, which are fixed to a special jig and positioned to overlay the intended osteotomy, allow the accuracy and angle of the osteotomy to be similar to the preoperative plan, but the advantages of such guide devices have not been clearly proven. Although radial saw guides were expected to improve accuracy, there was a limitation in clinical cases where 70% of actual osteotomy sites were located distal to the intended osteotomy site. In addition, there are disadvantages, such as the need to insert a jig pin into the joint because a jig must be positioned. In addition, patient-specific TPLO guides have been developed as auxiliary devices for surgery, but they have the disadvantage of requiring additional anesthesia for CT scans during actual clinical application and increasing the time and cost required to manufacture the guides. Therefore, there is a need to develop a new guide that can compensate for the shortcomings of such conventional TPLO guides. Figure 3 is a perspective view of a horizontal adjustment pin. Figure 4 is a plan view of the bottom plate and the top plate combined. Figure 5 is a cross-sectional view of AA of Figure 4. Figure 6 is a cross-sectional view of the BB in Figure 4. FIGS. 7 and 8 are drawings illustrating examples of application of a TPLO saw blade guide according to a preferred embodiment of the present invention. Hereinafter, embodiments of the present invention will be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings. First, it should be noted that when adding reference numerals to the components of each drawing, the same components are given the same reference numeral whenever possible, even if they are shown in different drawings. Furthermore, detailed descriptions are omitted if it is determined that they may obscure the essence of the present invention. Additionally, while preferred embodiments of the present invention will be described below, the technical concept of the present invention is not limited thereto and can be implemented by those skilled in the art.
