Description
Low temperature curable photosensitive resin composition for forming a black wall barrier having a fluorine-based binder resin The present invention relates to a photosensitive resin composition for forming a low-temperature curable black barrier comprising a fluorine-based binder resin. Black barrier PR applied for OLED displays must be developed based on the premise of low-temperature processes and the application of R, G, and B PRs for inkjet applications; specifically, it must have the characteristics of a low-temperature process of 100°C or lower and a film thickness of 5 µm or more. Furthermore, since a reverse taper pattern is disadvantageous as a barrier material because it causes a decrease in aperture ratio and resulting additional ink consumption during inkjet CF fabrication, as well as color differences due to variations in ink cavities caused by the reverse taper, it is necessary to secure a taper angle close to 90 degrees. In addition, loading as much inkjet R, G, and B ink PR as possible onto the BM barrier is advantageous for improving color reproduction rate. On the other hand, if the jetted R, G, and B ink PR travels along the Black barrier to other pixel cells, color mixing occurs and color distortion becomes severe, so the liquid repellency of the PR surface for the Black barrier must be raised to 35 degrees or higher. In addition to the low-temperature process, the characteristics required for BM materials used in inkjet processes for OLED displays include a thick film of at least 5 µm serving as a barrier to hold RGB ink. Furthermore, due to light absorption by the surface and top of the PR containing Carbon Black, a black pigment component, the curing of the core of the thick film is insufficient. Consequently, undercuts occur during development, making it easy for reverse taper to develop. This can lead to peel-off during development due to insufficient adhesion to the substrate. Therefore, for large-area inkjet process applications, a black barrier PR with a wide process margin is required. FIG. 1 is a cross-sectional view of a display device manufactured according to an embodiment of the present invention, and Figure 2 shows the cross-sectional taper angle of a black bulkhead manufactured in an experimental example of the present invention. The present invention relates to a photosensitive resin composition (PR for black barrier) for forming a black matrix barrier for a low-temperature process of an OLED display, but is not limited thereto. Specifically, it relates to a composition that simultaneously satisfies characteristics such as contact angle, patternability, and residual film-free properties. The present invention aims to provide a PR for black barriers that is a low-temperature process, possesses PR characteristics, and also has liquid-repellent properties. In providing a PR for black barriers having the above characteristics, it is particularly necessary to secure a stable contact angle and maintenance performance in addition to securing general PR characteristics for the formation of RGB ink pixels for jetting. In order to achieve the above characteristics, the present invention applies a fluorine-based binder resin, in particular a fluorine-based (meth)acrylate copolymer binder resin. The fluorine-based (meth)acrylate copolymer binder is characterized by containing a methacrylate monomer component having a fluorine-based side chain. Fluorinated (meth)acrylic copolymer binders alone may be disadvantageous in terms of coating properties and developability in certain Black barrier PR compositions due to their characteristics. The present invention also provides a photosensitive resin composition that reinforces the disadvantages of fluorinated (meth)acrylic copolymer binders alone by combining them with conventional reactive (meth)acrylic copolymer binders. Since R.G,B ink PR is either solvent-free or primarily uses PGMEA solvent, the present invention uses the contact angle with respect to PGMEA solvent as an indicator of liquid repellency and provides a composition with an improved contact angle with respect to PGMEA solvent. Since PGMEA is an amphiphilic agent exhibiting both lipophilic and hydrophilic properties, its surface free energy is 27.4 mN/m, which is higher than that of hexane (18.4 mN/m) but very low compared to that of water (DI) (72 mN/m). As the surface free energy of PGMEA (27 mN/m) is similar to that of typical siloxane-type surface modifiers, the liquid repellency (contact angle) of PGMEA on the PR surface is low when using conventional siloxane-based agents. To prevent RGB ink from crossing into pixels during the jetting process of an inkjet, a contact angle of at least 35 degrees (when PGMEA is applied) is required. Such a contact angle is difficult to achieve with reactive (meth)acrylic copolymer binders alone, and it is possible to achieve it by introducing components that lower surface energy, such as fluorine-based or siloxane-based components.
