Description

Event Cache Management Device and Method The present invention relates to an event cache management device and method, and more specifically, to an event cache management device and method that restricts the use of a general cache used in multiple different games in other games. Recently, as the reach of online games has expanded, many people have come to enjoy various online games using not only personal computers but also their mobile devices. These online games provide users with items necessary for game progression or to decorate the game character that represents them within the online game. In this regard, there is a prior art document, Korean Patent Publication No. 10-2004-0004328. The prior art document discloses a method for a user to top up cash to purchase a character or item. As such, while most in-game currency is acquired by users through payment, users can also obtain it through events provided for free by the game provider system. For example, users may receive event currency through various events held within the game, on game-related websites, or in giveaways. For example, an in-game event can be held to provide event cash to users for the purpose of revitalizing the game. However, if the event cash is distributed to users in the form of general cash usable across various different games, users may use it in a game different from the one where the event was held. In this case, it runs counter to the original objective of stimulating usage through the event. Additionally, some users may gift Event Cash to other users via the gifting feature to convert it into real money. Even in this case, as Event Cash is accepted across various games, the gifted cash is highly likely to be used in other games rather than the original game. As such, if event cache is acquired through a specific game, and the event cache provided in the form of regular cache is used in another game, the purpose of the event cache issued for game activation is lost. Therefore, technology was needed to solve the aforementioned problems. Meanwhile, the aforementioned background technology is technical information that the inventor possessed for the derivation of the present invention or acquired during the process of deriving the present invention, and it cannot be considered as prior art disclosed to the general public prior to the filing of the present invention. FIG. 1 is a block diagram illustrating an event cache management device according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 2 is a flowchart illustrating an event cache management method according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 3 is a flowchart for explaining a method for determining usage restrictions of an event cache according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 4 is a flowchart illustrating information about caches managed by user in a cache management unit according to an embodiment of the present invention. FIG. 5 is an illustrative diagram for explaining the usage limitation of an event cache according to an embodiment of the present invention. Embodiments of the present invention are described below with reference to the attached drawings so that those skilled in the art can easily implement the invention. However, the present invention may be embodied in various different forms and is not limited to the embodiments described herein. Furthermore, in order to clearly explain the present invention in the drawings, parts unrelated to the explanation have been omitted, and similar parts throughout the specification are denoted by similar reference numerals. Throughout the specification, when a part is described as being "connected" to another part, this includes not only cases where they are "directly connected," but also cases where they are "electrically connected" with other components interposed between them. Furthermore, when a part is described as "including" a certain component, this means that, unless specifically stated otherwise, it does not exclude other components but may include additional components. The present invention will be described in detail below with reference to the attached drawings. However, before explaining this, the meanings of the terms used below are first defined. In the following description, "General Cash" refers to cash provided by game-related companies that is valid across two or more games and holds monetary value within the game. For example, General Cash can be used to decorate a game character representing the user or to purchase in-game content such as items necessary for gameplay progression. Additionally, General Cash can be charged, spent, refunded, or exchanged by the user, and a portion of General Cash may be provided for free by game-related companies, etc., without requiring the user to top up their cash. "Event Cash" refers to cash that a user can acquire through an event held in one of two or more games, and includes Event Cash that has been acquired by another user through an
